Honestly, looking at this externally, it still doesn't quite feel like solidarity has really clicked with people in the US at the moment. It's quite possible for the regime to be motivated by sexism and racism and transphobia and by Elon Musk's ket benders at the same time

In a less tumultuous timeline, where tech isn't broadly captured by the state, we could easily split these two presidents of ours apart, weakening both. I still think we can do it, but it'll take longer. Hearing "President Elon" is going to eat at him enough eventually that Trump wants him gone.
