I say "started" cause the first line of the song goes "Johnny get your gun, get your gun, get your gun." and I immediately froze, realizing that the title of the absolute 1971 classic "Johnny got his gun" is most likely a reference to that exact song, to that exact line:

The result was "Nora Bayes - Over there". I searched it on YouTube and it was clearly the original, not the 808-powered remix version of the theme. Reading on the original, I found out it was a recruiting song from WWI and WWII, and I even started watching a lyrics video:
