I have always thought of Crichton's work as making he impossible plausible.

But he met, fell in love with and married an old friend from back in the day. They made by all accounts a great life together and even though death is a tragic loss, it is part of that life.
Alex I am so sorry for your loss

If I am going to call in sick but it is really for a mental health day I "Call in Well." Hi boss I am feeling perfectly fine and I will not be coming into work today.

was around 1985, maybe 84. Regardless I put to practice shooting and editing both picture and sound on 16mm using a sync block and rewinds. Took it all to Alpha Cine for a VHS transfer and viola my first crappy movie. Though the sentiment was in the right place. I recently got it digitized and

I have no stills from it and I wont inflict a link on this august body unless someone asks. Basically we took a 16mm CP 16 and shot A bunch of interviews with family Friends and coworkers all wishing her success in this acting program she went down to SF/Berkley to attend. I want to say this

Thus my first film Farewell To Anne was conceived. I got with Mark Schapiro and we sketched out what we wanted to do. I was working in this restaurant at the time as did Anne and one of the other servers Rochelle gave me ~ 300 bucks to help with costs. Rocheric Productions was formed

It was basically no words but we were breaking up. but that is a whole other story. Also note that I am Captain Derivative. A woman I worked with did a short documentary style bit for a good friend for her birthday. I did location sound for her show. This gave me an idea to do something similar

Working with Karl Krogstad and the folks in his orbit I was the sound guy but I absorbed a lot and wanted to make my own movies. I was of course going to be a Director. I was dating this woman at the time. She was an actress and toward the end of our relationship, she was off to Berkley to study

Based solely on the initial error message this looks more like a technical issue rather than being blocked. It says something about lack of resources which I would guess has to do with the server config more so than your political views

Speaking of dentists. You know those awesome soft sea salt caramels you can get at Costco? I broke a molar on one last week. Not the caramels fault. Defective molar.

like the flow of a day to shoot the scene. Everyone was pretty cool and I felt accepted and part of something creative.

Mark went on to get his MFA from AFI a couple years after we wrapped Amanda. The Crew was small, Usually Jeff, Mark, Gail, Pat P and myself. The truck was an old ambulance like Ghost Busters.
Amanda was a great experience. I learned a Lot about the bones of production through osmosis.

It was on Amanda that I met on the first day my long time Friend and Mentor, Mark Schapiro, seated below.
He was the DP. On the very first day apropos of nothing just started showing me the camera and how he prepped it and basically treated me as an equal and partner in crime.

I got to drive a DeLorean for a party scene. The also convince me to put on a wet suit and do a bit in Lake Union off of Jason's houseboat.
We spent about 5 years working in this show on weekends and holidays. It turned out pretty good and screened at SIFF I want to say around 89.

we had all these high end locations. Like a Convent north of Seattle build by some Boeing CEO and given to the sisters. ABC used it as the location for a movie of the week story about Jackie Kennedy. They even built the sisters a Pool.
WE also had high end cars like a mercedes stretch limo and

But that is another story altogether. Jeff had a couple of Lowell light kits, A 4 light DP and two soft lights and a 4 track reel to reel audio deck along with some RF Lav mics. I was brought on as the sound guy and utility strong back.
This was a pretty cool show cause since Amanda was so rich,

This is codirector Gail Rosella on the camera where they were shooting the Jason and Amanda Meet Cute scene in Glazers Camera when it was on 4th Avenue in Seattle.
We shot it on a 16mm Eclair NPR camera that you may recognize in my picture to the right. Jeff Gave it to me about 5 years ago.

The other side of it is they still think I, a 67 year old white guy from Seattle, am an African American running back for Florida state. I tried to get them to correct that but alas.
