Writer and knitter. Both occasionally cause me to swear. My debut novel, Damned Pretty Things, is out from Aqueduct Press. My short fiction has appeared in Asimov's, the Bending the Landscape anthology series, Black Cat Weekly, Century, and others.

bunny name of the day: Girliepop

!!!

From your local rarepair enjoyer: Just write the story. Don’t worry about engagement or kudos. If you got a story in your head, just write it. The people who want to read it will find it. Just because it ain’t everyone’s cup of tea doesn’t mean it isn’t good.

It's a good thing I wasn't able to line up my ribs and cables yesterday. I blocked the first pentagon last night (I know, I know) and it relaxed and is huuuuuuuge. I guess this is a bug of superwash wool. So back to the drawing board with much smaller needles.

This morning: "Easy Come, Easy Go" by Bobby Sherman, RIP.

Mic drop.

A win! Thank you to everyone who spoke out! After facing bipartisan resistance, the Senate Parliamentarian, ruled that Sen. Mike Lee’s proposal to sell off millions of acres of federal land cannot be included under reconciliation rules.

@gsnorgathon.bsky.social picked strawberries tonight and they smell divine. In other garden news, the two sungold plants have exploded. They're sprawling like crazy and taking up about 16 square feet of real estate. Several weeks ago I tied it to the trellis. It's laughing at me.

re: the bolero, I clearly have no idea what I'm doing, and I spent the whole day banging my head against that particular wall.

Without saying Personal Jesus, fave Depeche Mode song? Imma go with "Dreaming of Me." Pretend there's a video.

40 plus appreciation post. Reskeet with a pic if you're on the right side of 40. 64

In the relentless, blow by blow posting about the bolero, I don't like the second pentagon. I somehow jogged the pattern by one stitch. Iwill rip it out and knit it again. In internal radio news, I've still got "Ball of Confusion" playing. "Rap on, brother, rap on."

The people who mock circuses never seem to mock bread.

My fondest wish as a writer.

I don’t believe a single goddamn thing coming out of this administration. This is absolute gaslighting madness. It’s as if we’re watching toddlers run through the White House screaming and smearing Gogurt into the carpet and the entire world has to pretend it’s the Lincoln-Douglas debates.

Yes. This is the same kind of thing where people try to get free art and writing without paying for it. "Oh you love doing this, so it's not work, right?" "You should be paying me to have fun" Why so many businesses are embracing AI. They see no value in what we do (but are jealous we can do it)

The hubris is staggering.

Tonight I picked the first of our peas. They are little sugar-bombs.

If you see this post a random pic. Deny any expectations.

Using food to show where I grew up.

Now there are two. I would prefer the two to continue the pattern more closely from one to the next, but that's just the way it goes, judging by other people's projects on Ravelry.

This afternoon: The Temptations, "Ball of Confusion."

Why is Puss such a freakin weirdo? First she gnaws on carpet tiles, and now she's chowing on her actual litter box.

Or punk rock, if self-taught and you only grow three crops.

What's a poster you had up in your room growing up? (I honestly can't believe I found this online. It's at least 50 years old.)

Slungus as a sea bunny. (One Christmas I gave @gsnorgathon.bsky.social a sea bunny plushie.)

He covfefed his own name.

Not actually garbage. The elements are matched up in the seam. There aren't huge gaps. The curve of the fabric will block out without obliterating the cables. I am content.
