Deleting this because I have heard from a reliable source that all of the ACIP members remain accounted for/not fired. They met on Friday. Obviously unsure of the future here but this hasn't happened.

I think it’s not helpful to repeat claims that the administration is working on eliminating “DEIA” as though it’s some kind of corporate strategy; just say explicitly that they’re trying to eliminate diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility, and explain how.

Thanks to @sketchesbyboze.bsky.social for reminding me of this Ursula K. le Guin quote.

Hey: If you made it through the week, and you tried to do some things to help other people — large or small — where you could, and you need to hear it, I’m here to tell you thank you. Get some rest. Figure out today, then figure out tomorrow.

Excellent explainer thread

This piece by @dieworkwear.bsky.social is just super thoughtful and full of revelations. Love.

I appreciate this protest so much and also I am done begging Jeffries and Schumer to lead. They aren’t going to lead. The leadership vacuum is sucking at them and they are pulling back from the edge.

Tony Judt would tell you that trains are the core expression of modern civil society so you are saying you want that too.

Grateful to Rob and WPR for this story

Looking forward to being on the same page about this administration’s intentions for us with my U.S. long Covid cohort soon. (I really very genuinely am looking forward to that, grim as it will be.)

If you post "general strike" in my mentions, then I need you to tell me how much money the UAW had in its strike fund in 2023. [Without Googling]

When I moved up here my first job was Alumni Director (am not an alum) at Northland College. My board chair ran Book Across the Bay, a candlelit night ski race on the ice from (then) Ashland to Washburn.
