This isn't about trying to finding the lowest bond he can't pay. It is about following the law and guidelines that apply to the rest of us.
The justice and political system has placed Trump above the law. The one bright spot was NY civil law. Now it isn't as bright.

According to one poll there are 7.1% of adults who identify as LGBTQ. There are 50% (roughly) adult females in the population. With just these 2 groups alone, the republicans are hurting the majority of the population.
From these groups like these, who is voting for these republicans and why?

The victim keeps placing his face in the way of the bully's fist. Stupid victim.
Philip Bump, did I get that right?

This seems to be blaming Democrats truthfulness for Republican demagoguery and lies. This is part of the problem

I see 9 kings and queens not beholden to voters or the law all saying trust us.
I will definitely change my mind if they suddenly create real and binding ethics. Until then, no.
Definitely willing to adjust the metaphor though. Would 9 priests be better?

Too big to fail, moral hazard thing. He is just too rich.

Why not just block and move on? Why quote post with block threats or insults?

Not an insider/elite and I wonder given the times if satire is dead. Not saying it helps but if it does they should do it.

I didn't know that.

If those folks heard the message that trump is an existential threat to our democracy, seems reasonable. In fact, why not more? If trump is for something a larger percentage of Republicans will move towards it, right? If he proposes a 15 week national abortion ban, what would the percent be?

Today parker, a fellow columnist, said Harris should resign in part because of her failed border policies/management. How many republicans did you urge to resign over this evil exploitation of a crisis for political gain?

Same with DOJ. How do you do a transition?
Heck, he is receiving national security briefings now, right? Doesn't matter that he stole nuclear secrets. He is above the law.

I only heard the first half. I guess the second half didn't make the front page so I didn't see it?

No problem and maybe so. I hope your efforts with the other participants go well.

They would have still used those words?
If so, I think counter attack is good. If not, what words do you think they would have used?
comment in response to

I am honestly curious what verbs would describe her and her followers actions here. Her followers used the terms roasted, dissection, one hoped I stepped on rake. She seemed to agree or keep cheering on. Most of those terms had a physical aspect. Do you think that if I hadn't used the word attack
comment in response to
post
Definitely fits into her followers' view of things. Her vs. Me. Cage match. Public dissection. Gives her power too. What do you think?
comment in response to
post
Let's say I felt attacked and let's call my initial "you don't know what we're talking about" an attack. Would a good for her and her followers' responses be counter-attacks?
comment in response to
post
I don't follow. I don't feel attacked as she and her followers don't know who I am. So they all felt attacked because of my saying she didn't know what she was talking about? And the diagram about the dood trap and the public dissection was a response to that feeling?
comment in response to
post
So it didn't matter that I said she didn't know what she was talking about regarding leaf blowers. It was just that I wasn't in on the joke and said something. Why did all the earnest people urging me to use a rake escape her rath?
comment in response to
post
No. I am just interested in why she would lash out that way. (I am not sure lash out is correct word either).
How would you describe calling me a sex worker because I used a leaf blower as part of a verbal dissection for the enjoyment of her followers?
comment in response to
post
Then she called me a sex worker. One of her followers had a nice diagram about how I fell into her "dood" trap and how I was today's dissection.
comment in response to
post
I didn't say that. I said she didn't know what she was talking about. What I was referring to was that she said leaf blowers were ineffectual. Which was embedded in a joke about men only using them for sexual reasons.
comment in response to
post
It didn't bother me but it certainly made me interested about her and her followers.
I would understand if you aren't interested in continuing the conversation given that I am not taking personal offense.
Either way I do appreciate your response.
comment in response to

Sure. First let me state why my big nose is in here. Quite accidentally I assure you. I am an engineer of unspecified gender and race who knows something about battery powered leaf blowers. I was responding to her leaf blowers ineffectual comment and she responded by calling me a sex worker.
comment in response to
post
Sure. What do you want to call it? Does my race or gender matter in terms of what we call it?

That fact makes me sad. If trump is defeated in 2024, what should change so that our system of justice can be more robust to this type of threat?
comment in response to
post
Yes I've heard that before. I am sure she has too. That's why I am curious.
comment in response to

I will try to answer but honestly I don't know the terms. What do you mean by sexual anxiety here? Do you really mean something more like male aggressiveness including sexual aggressiveness? Because some women I know are anxious that they will not find a mate. (Some.are.not).
comment in response to
post
I am not feeling bruised and do very much like your diagrams.
So my "mistake" was saying she didn't know what she was talking about with regards to leaf blowers? Why would that be worth post quoting to all her followers?
comment in response to
post
So men who think they are targeted need to get with the joke and realize they are the exception and it's really the other men.
Turn that around though and imagine the analog being explained to a woman. It doesn't seem right.

I wish I was out of touch with reality.

Non lawyer here again.
So to sum up, there was no way our federal system of justice and our rule of law could figure out to hold trump accountable for insurrection or stealing nuclear secrets before the 2024 election?
Which if he wins, everyone seems to think he can make it all go away.
comment in response to
post
If it involves leaf blowers eye protection. Ear protection if gas powered.
comment in response to
post
In my experience most men don't consider the "obviously no one is talking about them" part. If you've used leaf blowers, kudos.
Do you think this Dr. doesn't know that? She believes that men will recognize they are not included in her scorn?
comment in response to
post
interesting. Don't regret being trapped at all.
However, if she and followers treat non-anonymous users like this, that isn't good.
comment in response to
post
Sure if you know that is true with regards to leaf blowers. But if you don't know that is true to leaf blowers, it seems silly to introduce it.
You ever listen to men complain that they feel targeted? I have. It surprises me that in this one case they were. (At least the leaf blower guys).
comment in response to

Why do you think I am out of touch with reality?
I am not a lawyer. On the outside looking in, my opinion of the law has collapsed.
The stolen docs case seems open and shut? Right?
Seems easy to say complicated will be why it fails but all the streamlined stuff is failing too.
comment in response to
post
But isn't that only half of it? You are saying she believes that because men and women have different exigencies men leaf blower users should be condemned and women users should not.
Great, why does she think that?
