Retired teacher here. Hard no. When education majors were asked to identify a topic of their choice for a panel discussion at my alma mater, they wanted to talk to teachers about mass shootings. Not classroom management. Not engaging lessons. I was shocked.

And I convinced myself they were an insignificant portion of America—the fringe of America. Nope. Turns out I was wrong. Still flabbergasted. When does the shock wear off?
