I spend way too much time talking about politics considering I don't work in politics or anything close to it.

This isn't a thing you can go ask a judge for, neither Article III real courts nor even our sham rubber-stamp Article II immigration courts. There's no statute, even in pretense, not even an unconstitutional one, that authorizes anything of the sort.

In what ways can one prepare? As an average citizen, who's not part of any institutions or organizations that would be directly affected, what is there to do to protect myself? Seems like lots of stuff that basically outside of my control.

Idk if it's so much "he knew maintaining communication and relationships matters", as much as "couldn't stand to not be in the spotlight/center of attention and can't let insults go unchallenged"... But same outcome, anyway

how does regulation support growth?
* by stopping good business practices from losing market share to bad ones
* by ensuring competition takes place on grounds of price and quality, rather than incumbent advantage
* by preventing confusing pricing structures or bad contracts acting as moats

The difference is actual church leaders don't usually end up being interviewed on cable news or getting headlines in the paper. Whereas politicians like Mike Johnson do all the time.

I guess it's worth noting that Mike Johnson is not a church leader, he's a political leader, using the language of Christianity for his own personal political gain (ie, in vain).
Most church leaders in America do not take the same attitudes he does, even those who lean conservative...

"push them out of the church" or make them less visible flagbearers (aside from voting them out of office, which is already a goal)
Best I can think of is elevating church leaders who, like the Bishop, take a strong, vocal stand on the real Christian message.

I feel the same way, I hate that these people are the most visible "Christians" in the country/American culture.
Imo this is what "using the Lord's name in vain" sinfulness actually is, not saying oh my god as a curse word necessarily.
Not sure there's anything I or others can do to...

The white one with the red stripes is the outlier, I think?

Is there still a chance for the house to block it? Trying to understand but it's not clear to me... Will write my rep if there's a chance for it to matter

If you're wondering who the apologists for the concentration camps are going to be (& yes, they are coming: bsky.app/profile/mcop...), now you know. And, as @darinself.com rightly noted π, they're going to tell you they are "temporary processing centers" or some other euphemistic nonsense.

I appreciate it. A friend sent me a 2-second video of it and I was mildly skeptical (also totally believable tho), and came here to see how others are interpreting it. Was nice to see someone come to what seems to be the consensus, while also knowing you didn't immediately jump to that conclusion

When you come across someone arguing that "the vibes" are significantly in Trump's favor, check if that person's primary online space is Twitter. Chances are it will beβand they're entirely unaware of how unrepresentative Twitter is.

Probably the best thing we could hope for! Anything that makes the Senate feel like they can act independently of what Trump wants, is a good thing
