Visited the new mega Korean market near SF last night. Asians, Latinos, Blacks, very diverse crowd... including one gay man with his partner wearing a bright yellow MAGA hat. I had to do a double take. I mean, really... all sorts of questions, like, why would you wear that, and why here?

A firestorm is brewing in #RedwoodCity, where a teacher allegedly threatened to #deport a 10-year-old student along with his family. Latino parents there say long buried #racism is coming to the fore again. Reporting via @peninsula360.bsky.social americancommunitymedia.org/education/ba...

Am I the only one reading White House tweets in Bane’s voice in my head?

A judge in #NorthCarolina lost his bid for a seat on the state's supreme court. He challenged, there were 2 recounts, and he still lost. He goes judge shopping and finds a court willing to toss 60+k votes bc election integrity. The masks are truly off now. americancommunitymedia.org/politics/in-...

This is what it looks like when a school gets behind its students and families. "Families trust schools implicitly, leaving their children with teachers and administrators for eight hours a day. So, in times of crisis... schools have to repay that trust." ethnicmediaservices.org/education/ho...

Met a journalist today who told me she fled political violence in Peru in the 80s with her family and found safety in the US. Now she is fleeing again because her son is trans and is terrified. This is not politics, left, right, whatever. It’s just hate.

What a treat to come to New Jersey to celebrate the work of ethnic media in one of the country's most diverse states. Trump et all can say what they want. This is diversity and inclusion in action! Great work team @centerforcooperativemedia.org.web.brid.gy for organizing.

Let's get this circulated!! 😤

Want to see what America will look like under Trump's misrule? Cast your gaze east to Hungary. "Orbán has created a monstrous state, one that should serve as a glaring red flag for America," writes Laszlo Bartus, head of the US's oldest Hungarian newspaper. ethnicmediaservices.org/oped/orbans-...

On the train to Trenton, NJ last night chatted with a Guatemalan deacon who is a member of a faith-led organization of federal security guards. "Everyone is scared," he told me. "There is so much fear in the community." Dark f***ing days, indeed.

Crockett: "If feels as if y'all have just decided that y'all are gonna castrate your constitutional duty & hand it over to someone who was unelected. It doesn't matter how many cheerleaders he had on the field campaigning for him. That doesn't mean he gets to go in and sit atop any of our agencies"

So much for no more foreign ventures. Shame on us.

Is it just me or is the prospect that the US government is even considering sending incarcerated US citizens to prisons in El Salvador FOR A FEE!!!! deeply fucking alarming. We are selling our freedoms wholesale.

I have nothing but sympathy for the plight of Palestinians. And I understand why so many Palestinian Americans could not bring themselves to vote for Biden. And yet... www.nytimes.com/live/2025/02...

Trans individuals have been among the most vulnerable in this country. So of course they would be targeted by Trump. ethnicmediaservices.org/gender-and-s...

Schoolhouse Rock is going to have to remake its cartoon on how a bill becomes a law.

Absolutely brutal scroll on Fox.

This is so real.
