I wish I only talked about tabletop games, writing, and comic books (and tea), but politics keep happening. I like He/Him, and I like She/Her, and I don't like Twitter anymore.

It is profoundly unjust that reality has unfolded in such a way as to make this post possible, even as satire No combination of events should have led to this; it should simply never have been possible even to imagine this combination of words

I've deleted six other posts in the last hour, but I want to leave you with this: You have the right to wish for the world you want to see Will you get it? Ohhh, probably not But you have every right to wish for it I believe in you Even if I strongly disagree with you

The number of angry posts I *don't* post successfully is legendary.

In a rare honest and unsarcastic moment, I am praying for the Pope.

I have seen too many people over the years who shop for doctors until they find one who agrees with the premise they arrived at from First Principles before they walked into the office. They do it with philosophy and politics, too.

I thought this was gonna be a politics post, and it's not, and that's honestly good, but it does double as one tbh

Partner is watching a docuseries on escaping abusive cults, and *every single one* is predicated on RETVRN shit. Every one! The trads are killing us, and they've *been* killing us.

A lot of infighting makes more sense when you realize a lot of activists believe they are a guerilla army fighting a hot war. They're exhausted, feeling like the entire country is on their shoulders and that politicians have abdicated responsibility. This isn't true, and it's just wearing us down.

I would put money down that some of these people think all they're doing the equivalent of "OK" hand sign trolling from the first term. Their friends might even tell them that's all it is. But at the end of the day, this is Nazi shit, and serious people around the world see that.

🎶 Now, landsmen all, whoever you may be, If you want to rise to the top of the tree, If your soul isn't fettered to an office stool, Be careful to be guided by this golden rule — Stick close to your desks ... And *never* go to sea ... ... And you *all* may be rulers of the Queen's Navy! 🎵

I don't think we're talking enough about the fact that the pressure to remove DEI from science means women die.

New: DOGE's spending has been secret. No longer. My colleagues have uncovered it. www.propublica.org/article/doge...

JUST IN: A judge has enjoined President Trump's effort to block federal funds from going toward grant recipients who engage in DEI practices. The judge says the orgs are likely to succeed on claims that this is viewpoint discrimination, among other issues storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.us...

It's pretty cool that Eater put together resources for restaurants about how to handle ICE raids

i missed this story when it came out. if the nomination process were a court proceeding, we would describe what happened with the Hegseth nomination as witness tampering and obstruction of justice. www.politico.com/news/2025/01...

Seriously, can we stop saying we live in Idiocracy? In that movie, they didn't *want* to be as far behind as they were. They wanted to fix things. That is why real life is currently worse.

For all the USPS's faults, Americans have to realize: It's one of the best postal services in the world, even after being kneecapped by DeJoy. Fight for our postal service, guys. I know I will. It is an essential public good.

Remember when Sesame Street established that gender norms can be flipped without incident, and nobody tried to cancel them back then because people didn't have Brain Worm Propaganda foie gras'd down their gullet 24/7 youtu.be/kXluTl1K8x4?...
