Much like smoking he probably sees addiction as weakness and not worthy of treating. I expect he has more of a “Duterte” opinion. While he may not summarily execute addicts, just letting them kill themselves by eliminating any treatment may be his preferred course of action.

I fear subtlety won’t cut it. This will sound harsher than I intend but Americans are too ignorant, selfish and bigoted to grasp this rather academic argument. As Trumpism and social media have found visceral hate is the greatest motivator. Unfortunately that is likely the best way to beat them.

Head exploding listening to the Sunday morning - tariffs: admin claims will bring auto jobs back to US - perhaps. But the reason they are elsewhere is primarily labor wages. Unless these reclaimed US jobs pay the same as say Mexico - they can’t - auto prices will rise anyway. Am I missing something?
