Yes, I think it's easier to introduce concepts by linking them to a familiar one, so linking Good Friday and Fridays generally makes sense. Like teaching Easter as a big Sunday or Sundays as little Easters.

Yes that's her! "The Bog Irish." It's in her book Natural Symbols. Part of her post-Vatican II advocacy against liturgical reform. I have a copy if you want one.

Whenever I have taught the famous Mary Douglas essay on Friday fish, especially with Catholic students, they are shocked this was ever a thing. I don’t necessarily disagree, but it would take a massive catechetical effort.

in a weird way The Americans prepared me for this.

I enjoyed the video. Thank you.

Yes. I left out the ending to today's reading but it's the proper rejoinder.

I barely use Facebook anymore, but I am grateful its algorithm has decided I only want to see baked goods and Folio Society releases. It's not wrong.

I have played enough JRPGs to know killing God is often the only thing that works.

My current and grim guess is there would need to be a tipping point event that is shocking and televisual. Horrible to think what that kind of thing would be.

Oh, if it's Lady Quark's kid, the main cast is all princesses. Yes, that's very Sailor Moon.

Wait is Fern going to be Lady Quark's daughter? Very wow if so.

Years ago I spent a week defending this Suicide Squad page from religious tumblrs, explaining Nightshade isn't "mocking" the nun's faith; Nightshade is a devout Catholic and also a shadow demon princess and just really cool.

Still thinking about how multiple characters are not introduced at all but Harrison Ford's first line is "Have you heard from Betty? My Daughter?"

FF definitely looks like more of a gamble than it did at announcement. If any of their core franchises decline, that'll be the real death knell for them. But they used to be able to launch these second- and third-tier properties easily.

That's true! It's almost two hours of nothing. The movie prominently features *Isaiah Bradley* and refuses to have ideas or themes.

It's kind of funny that a movie that follows up on the MCU's least-loved properties still fails to acknowledge Secret Invasion. That's one misfit toy that's staying on the island.

They sold a Diamondback toy at McDonalds and she's not even in the final cut! This needs to be amazing.
