if they can't tolerate a genderqueer main character, then this simply isn't for them ๐คท๐พ

this one IS a standalone, so if you don't want to invest in a series, be sure to gander this way ๐ซก

I've also had the pleasure of talking to @wickedjamison.bsky.social about their duology, but we focused on I FEED HER TO THE BEAST AND THE BEAST IS ME so we didn't spoil Book 2 which has only just been released!

absolutely hate the lack of clarity around this and how it seems to be affecting small businesses the most ๐ฎโ๐จ

just as my debut I FEED HER TO THE BEAST goes deep into the ballet world, ROAR OF THE LAMBS gets obsessive about the demon core and nuclear physics in a rust belt city looking for revival

I'm currently editing ROAR OF THE LAMBS, my sweet little Gothic romantic horror, about a psychic who lies too much and the genderqueer juvenile delinquent that she dupes onto being her hero.

imagine a fucky physics anomaly called Morning Star that mimics nuclear accidents and radiation sickness, and the Cherenkov radiation is like gazing upon the face of a biblical angel aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

Hunter Biden pardoned. Okay, President Biden:
There are now 40 men on federal death row. You promised to end the death penalty but havenโt even issued a single clemency.
60 members of Congress are calling for it. When are their clemencies coming?

you know what YA books go viral the most? the ones catering to cis white (American) women's aesthetics and tastes.
publishing rewards authors who write and promote to this experience which is already inherently alienating. it will not get better if white women don't cut it out.

not mentioned in the video, but making a broader connection here as a YA author - wealthy white women are actively pushing children out of child spaces, as businesses cater to their buying power and how they make girlhood synonymous with overconsumption.

yeah, it's pretty uncomfortable and really rooted in one specific experience only

If a trans woman wears all pink and ties a silk bow in her hair, she's making a mockery of womanhood, but if a cis woman does it, it's relatable? Adult women trying to be demure and innocent and while No Doubt's "Just A Girl" goes viral while ignoring what the song is ACTUALLY about... cursed.

why is it trendy to not know how to drive or care for yourself? why is it trendy to talk about not being fiscally responsible while depicting a man as logical and smart beside you? and why is it always thin cis white women with money at the face of this? who is the face of "innocence" historically?
