i'm still so tired of the hypotheticals. i find someone doing that and i'd rather watch them fall down an escalator even if they do achieve machine sentience we have already established the end result still can't possibly be worth having and we should still jihad them

it really says so much about the liberal mindset that a majority period where they're able to act is *MAGICAL*. like a fae gate that only appears at 2:15am on a harvest moon, and not something that can be achieved by demonstrating principles and offering the voters things they need

in fact they keep voting to expand it

like i want all this to work it's just challenging to make it happen and it takes a lot to find people who have the time and resources to do it

even having lawyers present... by the time the portland protests in 2020 were in full swing it sounded like they were shooting at legal observers like the IDF aims at medic outfits
comment in response to post
it is, as i understand it, pretty fucking hard to talk to them, as they often come out shooting to maim
comment in response to post
for sure, i definitely agree with that. the "mindless, reactive" part kinda got lost in the character crunch i think. microblogs are so bad

and two, it does feel like it doesn't matter whether protesters make it violent or not, they'll make it so or pretend any excuse works. the only nonviolent thing the protesters can do at this point is stop existing
comment in response to post
i see what you're saying, i understand why you're saying it and agree with the information, and i can also see why people are getting mad at you. one, this does sound rhetorically similar to condescending "these violent protesters are bad news" bullshit when as always it's a cop riot

they just had a whole administration that began after an open investigation already concluded that ice is chock full of neo-nazis, and they were just like... "ehh it's fine"
comment in response to post
trying to pretend they couldn't have defunded ICE is baby stuff cmon

biden sponsored the bill, it's like his baby
comment in response to post
would she have helped build a large and heavily-militarized DHS and police state system to execute any such whims that an incoming administration might have had? and then, say, turned it over to them peacefully?
comment in response to post
this kind of repression and militarized up-armament of police and ice was the characteristic drumbeat of biden's entire presidency. they spent four years polishing and upgrading his guns before handing them over with a flourish

aww they're sad about it 😒

knowing they openly admit to blowing a million quid trying to make an ai tool to decide who's able to self-promote on social media, instead of paying people what they were owed. there's gotta be a whole rest of the iceberg under there

is that what those fucking "did you have fun this match πŸ˜€ / 😒" ratings are for, they just avoid matching up dunks ever? this is obligate unranked, right? yeah it is... i wonder if they do that in all the "play" queues that much more strongly than the ranked ones

maybe if he pitches his thing he can get some investor money tho he can always try that

the same section in the latest revision of the article doesn't link out to this arxiv paper but it does explain why we don't find any positronium anywhere today or maybe ever

if he emails the right person who happens to read the top of his email and is then foolish enough to encourage by responding, there is sort of a theory atoms 40 million times wider than the modern visible universe, 10000 vigintillion vigintillion years in the future en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?...

all the arguments about harm *reduction* and voting for the *lesser* evil need to consider this. yes, great: vote D, if you can live with yourself afterwards. but people who scold others for not voting and have no plan BEYOND voting are the ones with a broken moral compass here
comment in response to post
people barely voted for them because they ran so far to the right that they were barely distinguishable from Republicans during the campaign (even worse if you know what they actually spend their time doing). Reaganites at best, now SPRINTING rightward as fast as they can into the jaws of fascism
comment in response to post
yeah it was going to be turn based, and they changed the turns to be really short and unskippable partway through development in like an evening
comment in response to post
tim walz is a lonely exception who got dragged behind the curtain with a shepherd's crook and literally told to cut it out by party leadership the moment he started doing something narratively effective during the campaign

that is just straight up not factual sorry

and that means any larger status quo, up to them to determine at what point. and if capital can't beat you with the other party, the dnc itself will happily help. they've done it time and time again :(
comment in response to post
yeah at that point you functionally aren't the same party, and they only really cover or support you to extend the reach of their brand. i just think that even as a party member, as soon as you present any meaningful threat to the status quo their giant money machine will rip you asunder

if it were possible to get people who thought like you into a major political party, i might even bet on us having a country in 30 years
comment in response to post
is it? because it seems like he remains welcome among the institutional backbone of the party, who are currently courting thinktanks advising to do the same thing nationwide. you can pretend to make yourself feel better if it's your last lifeline but you should consider reevaluating the reality

i adore your procedural work. it's so hard to do well, it's literally more difficult than making regular levels and stuff: the depth and interest in the final product is fully dependent on the amount of thought and work that went into making it. this clearly holds even when large models are involved
