Rep. Jim Himes: Zelenskyy is watching 70,000 dead Ukrainians. Missiles are slamming into hospitals. This is what he’s seeing, and he comes to the Oval Office, and a reporter asks him why he’s not wearing a suit. And the effing VP wants him to say thank you…

USA loses another war 🤦‍♂️

“Once transferred to Ukraine, this money can be used to ensure that the country cannot only recover from the war, but also prevent a repeat of it.” My study urging this $300 billion transfer several years ago has worn well. Action, not talk, is urgently needed now: www.nytimes.com/2025/03/04/b...

They’re learning about Budapest, tiktok is full-on libbing out

Freeland: "If these tariffs are put in place, it is going to hurt Americans ... your grocery prices are gonna go up, bc you know what you need to grow food in the US? You need fertilizer. 80% of it comes from Canada and you're gonna be a 25% tax on it? ... the WSJ is right. This is dumb."

I am sorry what the $%^^$ is this? Does this mean they will reject the vaccine for pancreatic cancer if it turns out to be effective? www.mskcc.org/news/can-mrn...

Still learning a great deal by writing short summaries of key health care topics under an open license. Today was "Cyclical vomiting syndrome". Lots of treatments I had not considered. mdwiki.org/wiki/Cyclic_...

THE US CYBERSECURITY SHIELD HAS BEEN TURNED OFF FOR RUSSIA Let’s be clear about this, last week the United States on orders from SecDef Hegseth, has ceased monitoring, identifying, tracking, preventing or alerting anyone to Russian cyber attacks. No activity at all is permitted. Nobody now even now

In response to U.S. tariff threats, Sonya Zaback from Prince Edward County lent her voice to this great song. Thanks to the constituent who shared this with me over the weekend! Give it a listen! 👇

IMPORTANT: If you live in the United States or Canada, you’ve probably heard Trump‘s constant claim that the United States is “subsidizing” Canada. It’s wrong of course, but here’s the best explanation I’ve seen about how & why it’s wrong. PLEASE WATCH & SHARE IT A LOT. Kudos to Andrew Chang & CBC.

Leaders of the free world stand united in London The United States is not among them

Macron: “But we must not forget one point—if anyone is playing the Third World War, it is Vladimir Putin. He was the one who started the war three years ago, and he brought 10,000 North Korean soldiers to European soil.”

Remember, EuropePMC is actually better than #PubMed because it includes ALL preprints in search results, not just those including NIH-funded research. europepmc.org

Sad to see the USA joining Russia and Norther Korea... "U.S. joined Russia, North Korea, and a tiny bloc of Russian allies to vote against a United Nations resolution condemning Russia’s invasion of Ukraine." www.theatlantic.com/politics/arc...

"Nowhere in the country have rents declined as much as they have in Austin — now 22% off the peak reached in August 2023, according to Redfin. The median asking rent is $1,399 per month, down $400 in less than three years" #YIMBYworks

Good to see @WHO recommending wearing a face mask and improved ventilation for metapneumovirus mdwiki.org/wiki/Human_m...

I’m quietly meditating… yet there are 2 chilling thoughts keep haunting me— 📌1. Measles is not just highly infectious with R0 of 12-18, but it has a long ***2 WEEK*** INCUBATION period—ie Texas outbreak could be in the HUNDREDS or more already, and we are seeing just the early tip of iceberg.

Due to diversion, "safer supply", no longer available to take home in BC effective immediately. But Suboxone is, and any ER is happy to transition interested folks in that direction. www.cbc.ca/news/canada/...

I just do not get all the folks in the USA complaining that the party they did NOT elect, is not speaking out loud enough to protest the actions of the party they DID elect. And even when they do speak out one barely hear about it as the media is and has been solidly right wing forever.

Things are looking bleak for renewables and by extension humanity... They have barely increased as a % of energy use globally despite being the least expensive. Humanities demand for energy just simply increases so quickly.

Good: CDC’s outbreak publication (MMWR) is now up and running after the first pause in over 70 years Bad: Todays publication is about fires, and not the missing bird flu or mpox studies we knew were up for publication. Of which have safety implications for veterinarians and people with house cats …

SCOOP: The US Treasury claimed a DOGE's Marco Elez didn’t have ‘write access,’ when he actually did. Sources tell WIRED that his ability to alter code controlling trillions in federal spending was rescinded, days after officials said it didn't exist.

Harms in the form of diversion from "safer supply" have leaked within BC. Please note that anyone in need can get Suboxone (a much better supported treatment) at nearly any ER in BC at any time. globalnews.ca/news/1100599...

Are Canadians stupid enough to follow the USA and elect PP? Here is hoping not but you never know.

BIG POLLING NEWS If these numbers bear out... Mainstreet and Nanos would be starting to show that which EKOS has been showing for some time. And Nanos would be the first A+ rated pollster to show it.

Climate change target of 2C is ‘dead’, says renowned climate scientist Prof James Hansen We will reach 2C by 2045 Collapse of critical ocean current AMOC as early as 20 years I would say it will be even sooner Humanity has destroyed their own future www.theguardian.com/environment/...

Canada went nose-to-nose with Denmark in the Whiskey Wars. Well, bottle-to-bottle, anyhow. I wonder if any of the bottles made it into the Canadian War Museum? en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Whisky_...
