I had only done two games that way, but since it lives on my (not publicly viewable) Blogger, the images at least still exist.

Weirder update: Successfully ripped The Pajama Game, widescreen version. It's a WB DVD in their usual cardboard-and-plastic case. Worked perfectly. 🤷

Yeah the penultimate stretch through The Many was in fact where my historical "furthest" run came to an end - I was playing co-op with my brother, and that area gets to be a massive pain in the butt when you can't quick-load.

Or, hell, might try it in co-op if somebody really wants a partner to try it out with. Just be warned that I'm liable to pick the weirdest build possible 😆

I've heard that, too, but it seems like the rot is setting in on specifically discs manufactured between 2006 and 2008 - these are older and don't exhibit any visual signs of rot (yet). Also, weirdly, they'll play fine in DVD players. Just not computers.

One more enters the can't-rip pile, and it's... a Columbia TriStar one? Weird.

I don't follow some of the above people on bluesky because I'm kinda overwhelmed now, but if you still have some whelms left perhaps u should consider a follow

Extra-weird part is that I tried one of the WB DVDs that wouldn't work on a computer, in a regular DVD player - it worked fine. 🤔

Yeah, I do have a couple of other USB DVD drives (and my gaming rig, with a SATA DVD+RW) that I can try, so the Can't Rip Pile is being set aside to try again in those later.

Also Mom labeled all of the movies along the top edge of the cases, which is neat for these narrow baskets but it also means I have to cut or rip them to open the cases 😕

The "couldn't rip" pile so far is 5 random Marvel movies, 4 WB DVDs, 1 WB Blu-Ray, and one Paramount DVD.

i think it'd be hilarious if SRW added Battletech in any form. you get to field a Mad Cat with some nobody pilot, and using them at all causes an extremely jarring artstyle change as it dumps LRMs to the point of overheat, then we switch back to the anime look as they start to impact the target

Only just noticed This waiting on my desktop too. Y'know, kudos to whoever authored this disc. Not even remotely interested in the movie but I admire the dedication to making this disc a strong user experience all around - even for the people who aren't attempting to watch it.
