"not sure what my name is right now. this clearly means i must not be plural, as not being sure who i am is clearly a singular experience" -statements dreamed up by the Me

ya, our alter is uncomfortable with the tits but is thrilled about the bottom surgery since it's something she "should have had all along"

that's the surprisingly easy part - the surprisingly challenging part is that they usually need a lot of front time to do emotional processing. it can be pretty inconvenient as an adult to be like "ah crap i need to schedule two hours of coloring book time this week"

if you do ever find any, they're both easier and more challenging to accommodate than you'd think. for me and most systems i talk to, they're usually plenty capable of respecting boundaries, and usually withdraw themselves from awkward interpersonal situations without even needing to be told to.

we've got the funny situation where the kid is a girl but the teen is a boy
like the kid saw we were trans now and was like "wow that. makes way more sense actually, call me she/they"
but the teen is stuck in Perpetual Egg Purgatory bless his soul

my old pfp was a commission i got in 2018 from jess lome ( @boooworth.bsky.social ) which i will forever cherish - i was only out to close friends at the time and she did an amazing job capturing my joy in these ref photos of one of the few times i got to femme it up at the time!

seeing myself up there with a bunch of girls with real photos actually peer pressured me into changing my avi lol
my old avi was was a commission i got pre-transition and it's always been pretty and made me happy, but i have this face for real now and don't have to hide behind old wish fulfillment

it's unethical for trans women to get bottom surgery because now there's less women to fuck trans women with bottom surgery

it took a little bit to find, i kept ending up on GPT-generated SEO farms with hallucinated citations 🤦♀️ after like five tries, one of the hallucinated citations had a close enough title to a real study to actually find the study from googling it

huh, i stand corrected. they are.
causal link isn't established but isn't important, what's established is that childhood anxiety predicts adult psychosis
(whether the psychosis was latently present from childhood may matter for causal but not for predictive)

they're saying he has no history of mental illnesses that are risk factors for psychosis. anxiety disorders aren't.

real oldheads remember that toby fox protested the word 'mpreg' being blocked on the homestuck forums by making an entire mpreg album called 'the baby is you'
comment in response to

the homestuck music team was *very* good. toby fox is of course the most famous example, given he went on to make undertale, but there were so many talented musicians on that team. i think a lot of people who never read homestuck are unaware that it was also a prolific musical project.

yeah! hussie assembled a team of musicians that produced music for the comic's periodic animated flash sections used for climactic moments. the albums assembled these tracks, plus other tracks by the team - tracks that were cut, or just them riffing on their own. the albums are how they got paid!

unfortunately not to my knowledge, the podcast was produced on a shoestring budget

the entire episode, every time she referencing facing discrimination for being a femme with a penis, she's like BUT I DONT EXPERIENCE TRANSMISOGYNY THO I DONT WANT TO SPEAK OVER TRANS WOMEN
which is a sweet gesture but. honestly. i think at that point you can claim you're experiencing transmisogyny

not even a hypothetical, one of the best wagharfg episodes is the phalloplasty one where jolene interviews a she/they who got phallo. she talks about how it makes wearing her favorite miniskirts a bit awkward because neophalluses dont get fully flaccid

so without external bookkeeping, it's easy to simply not realize i'm missing something. and the brain is pretty good at glossing over inconsistencies in the external bookkeeping, too.

i sometimes think of my memory as a big heap of data, with a pointer table into individual memories. different alters can have subtly different pointer tables.
if i have a pointer, but not the data, that's obvious amnesia. but plurality puts me in situations where i have the data, but no pointer.

LMAO this is the language contractors understand. when my dad worked construction, if he saw a dangerously damaged extension cord, he unplugged/cut it in half with bolt cutters. the subcontractor bosses hated him for making them follow osha regs by turning their garbage into more-obvious garbage lol

agoraphobia is also a disability, one i acquired in large part due to following dozens of people telling me that if got within 50 feet of another person it was only a matter of time until i was bedbound with ME/CFS.
the rhetoric is too heavy.
i had to put myself on an information diet to recover.

one time i thought our switches were subtle when it was all internal talk... and got an 'are you okay???' from someone who wasn't even aware i was plural 😖
external interruption in the middle of an intentional switch feels bizarre, like multi track drifting my brain, and not in a co-fronting way

"maskless selfies" is another massive bugbear. i wear masks everywhere but take them off for 30 seconds to take a picture, big whoop. the amount of potential virus exchanged is minimal. people want to show off their faces. especially trans people who worked our asses off to get faces we like having.
comment in response to
post
and honestly the fact that people hear me start to gently suggest increasing the amount of time you mask and immediately associate me with people who engage in fire and brimstone rhetoric like "going out for dinner is eugenics" impedes my ability to convince more people.
comment in response to
post
i mean i mask everywhere and i avoid this line of argument in all my pro-mask rhetoric because it's ineffective.
my go-tos are "in five years ive had only a single cold despite multiple confirmed covid exposures!" and "even imperfect masking helps, lower exposure viral load means better recovery!"

but of course OOP didn't write this as actual advice. it's a power fantasy. the power to silence others with social pressure.
that's why it reads like how a kindergarten teacher settles a class. they want to feel like that kindergarten teacher, silencing people they view as naughty children.

iOS is way better for (specifically) single and/or prosthetic hand interface accessibility, so everyone is on it, which makes it extra obnoxious when they tank other accessibility concerns for no reason other than stepping on rakes being a cool trick to do at pressers
