Poem by Peggy Shumaker. Shared by Alexis Rhone Fancher. 🩷 Plus I'm performing in the Vagina Monologues this month, so timely... 🍭

Two months from today, How to Tie Tobacco, will be released by @wildinkpublishing.bsky.social “A stunning debut chapbook…(the) author presses hands with ancestors in dream and form…diving into the invisibly treacherous waters women have always been made to navigate.” – @mothergusa.bsky.social

"I'm just a vegan!" Lol

Someone needs to invent a pharmaceutical drug that treats greed, which I consider to be a mental illness. Prove God wrong.

Grateful to Poet Alexis Tolkkinen for this gut honest review of "American Saunter." Thank you! www.flowersongpress.com/books/p/amer...

Nevertheless, she persisted! Source: Wild West Racoon Gazette

I'm thoroughly enjoying reading "Penning Paper Moths" by @trishaleighpoetry.bsky.social A whispery, spring linen, lace curtain, cottage tea delight, with some saucy, under the cover pieces as well. I also love her nods to Virginia Woolf, Keats, Samuel Hurley, and 17th century folk ballads.

I loved having the chance to explain the reasoning behind my "School of Athens" poem in the #UncensoredInk Anthology and all the censorship and pushback philosophers and seekers have fought against. @iantan.bsky.social @wildinkpublishing.bsky.social

See and hear poet (and the Ohio Poetry Association's immediate past president) Chuck Salmons Saturday afternoon at the East Cleveland Public Library:

Please keep writing. In the face of fucktastrophe after fucktastrophe. Please keep putting your heart on the page and sharing. Don’t let them take that as well.

I am so proud of this photo. It's a visual manifestion of not giving up and generous editors who took a chance on an unknown poet. @wildinkpublishing.bsky.social @gyroscopereview.bsky.social @yellowarrowpub.bsky.social @tangledlockslit.bsky.social @flowersongpress.bsky.social

My darling kids. ♥️

www.facebook.com/share/p/18Lo... So grateful to be featured on SpoFest Muse's Mic by the lovely Sandra Feen and James Bryant last Wednesday! Here is the podcast recording if you'd like to take a listen. Interview starts about 5 minutes in. @jburroughs.bsky.social @ohiopoetry.bsky.social

Today's powerhouse poetry pick: Naomi Shihab Nye - what a woman! The gorgeous "Everything Comes Next" collection is luscious, honest, and so inspiring, just like Naomi herself. Truly a delightful human being and outstanding poet.

Every day in February I will choose a poetry book off my bookshelf and share. Today's choice is: "Likely" by Lisa Coffman is life put into poetry. She's all heart and landscape and slow burn. If Watts from Some Kind of Wonderful were a book, she'd be "Likely."

Today's poetry pick: Cider Press Award Winner "Inheritance With a High Error Rate" by Jen Karetnick. She reminds me of Mary Oliver in her seeing, and focus on urgent eco-imbalance. Yet it is often buoyed by humor and clever playfulness.

Today's poetry pick is: "As if this did not happen every day" by Paula J. Lambert. Her poems are psalms about nature. Seeing a starling murmuration from my back window yesterday was my sign Paula would be one of my next choices. 🥰 @pjlpoet.bsky.social @ohiopoetry.bsky.social

Today's poetry pick: "40 Weeks" by Julia Kolchinsky is a love letter/poetic diary of pregnancy. The honest intimacy and beautiful strength of this collection validates the desire I've long had to write my own collection of pregnancy poems.

I am SO excited and teary-eyed to share that the chapbook I've written about our blind, three-legged rescue wonder dog, Vinny Valentine, is going to be PUBLISHED, released Winter 2026 by FlowerSong Press (through their Juventud Imprint). @flowersongpress.bsky.social 3 minutes ago

Today's poetry pick includes: "The Unfolding" by Rosemerry Wahtola Trommer, who swims, glides and kicks through immense, ultimate loss with a keen, insightful, feminine beauty that takes my breath away. I featured her "Hush" last year which I was (still am) obsessed with.
