Look at this beautiful Singer sewing machine our volunteer Simone rescued from the tip! It's now in full working order and as good as new. If you have a sewing machine in need of some care and attention, bring it to Wirral Repair Cafe at Birkenhead Central Library this Saturday, 1st March, 2 - 4pm.

Wirral Repair Café Saturday 1st March, 2 - 4pm It's nearly March, which means spring should be just around the corner. Time to get your garden tools into shape, ready for the growing season! We have sharpening equipment and can restore your blunt shears, secateurs, loppers and mower blades.

February's Repair Cafe was a busy one with 38 items in need of mending. Wonderful to see so many visitors and the range of objects brought in for repair, including a cat water fountain, a carpet cleaner, and a PlayStation. We enjoyed seeing the result of the makeover Mary carried out on Piggles!

Wirral Repair Café - TOMORROW! We have volunteers with bike mending skills. In previous months, they have fixed brake pads and cables, gears, and flat tyres. If a part is needed they can advise on where to buy it or recommend a local bicycle repair shop that would be able to help.

Wirral Repair Café Saturday 1st February, 2 - 4pm Birkenhead Central Library, Borough Road, Birkenhead, CH41 2XB On Saturday, we'll have repairers waiting to fix your worn out clothing and textiles with their sewing and darning skills. We can also help you with your sewing machine troubles.

Do you have a garden ornament that came off worse in a fight against Storm Eowyn? A favourite ceramic vase that was knocked over? Maybe a much-loved wooden sculpture that has been chipped? Or a metal figurine with a dislocated limb? Bring your damaged ornaments to the Repair Cafe on Saturday!

We were a bit sad when we had to send one of our favourite flags off to Amsterdam for the 15th birthday of the Repair Café Organisation. This was the one chosen to go and represent Wirral Repair Cafe but the wonderful Laura has made us a duplicate. See if you can spot it when you visit us next time.

Wow, what a busy Repair Cafe we had on Saturday! It was great to see so many people. 37 items were brought for repair. Of these, 20 items were fully repaired, 7 were partially repaired, and 4 items needed a new part and will be brought back for it to be installed.

TOMORROW AT BIRKENHEAD LIBRARY! Repairing electrical items can seem daunting to do by yourself. Luckily we have a talented team of volunteers who know how to safely test and fix appliances such as sewing machines, lamps, radios, irons, hair dryers, kettles and toasters.

HAPPY NEW YEAR! Out with the old and in with the new doesn't have to mean that you throw out broken or faulty tech. With a bit of know how, it can often be fully restored. Or perhaps you got a new device for Christmas and need some help to learn how to use it.

Merseyside Police are advising against non-essential travel today due to the very strong winds of Storm Darragh and the amber weather warning in place. Birkenhead Library will be open today but we are cancelling the Wirral Repair Cafe.

Come to the Wirral Repair Cafe TOMORROW! We have many volunteers with the skills to repair electrical and electronic equipment. They can also give advice on parts that may be required so that you can return with your broken item to have it mended at a later date.

We can help keep you looking and feeling your best this festive season with free textile and costume jewellery repairs. Perhaps your favourite jumper, blanket or woolly hat has a hole in. Or maybe the seam or hem has come unstitched on your perfect party dress.
