In other news, I blew through my entire weekend's food budget by doing a degustation with tea pairing at Lee Ho Fook this evening. Fortunately I only have carry-on for the flight home and am only allowed to buy the Yayoi exhibition catalogue AND THAT'S IT.

In other news, I have remembered to bring my notebook but I have forgotten to bring a pen. Other useless things I found in my backpack: compass and whistle (it's my hiking daypack) and my volunteer name badge.

I'm sorry, but WTF Melbourne‽ I can do 30C days but 30C nights??!!

Dear past me, So, the future isn't what you imagined. For starters, you read Teen Vogue for the political articles. Wired magazine is the only resource to store official American Government systems and documentation. Neil Gaiman, JK Rowling and Joss Whedon are the literal worst...

Went to see 'We Live in Time'. I fundamentally misunderstood the premise of the film and thought it was a multiverse romance that the promos were trying to hide under a layer of literary flair. Friends, it was not a multiverse romance, just a love story told out of sequence.

Movies you've watched more than six times, using only GIFs

I'll tell you what you shouldn't do. You shouldn't eat a massive bowl of Yo-Chi, run for the ferry and then realise belatedly that it's a fast ferry in a rough sea.

Just watched Juan Pablo Di Pace's 'Duino', a metafictional film about his life in which he also acts. He did a Q&A after and I cannot believe how good-looking this man is on screen AND in person.

It's the Year of the Snake and so I'm proposing the Snake Diet™️ in which you should only eat things bigger than your head.

The train replacement bus driver has vocal GPS directions turned on 🙃

Extra special petty hatred of V-Day to stand for Valentine's Day.

Last night saw David Sedaris at the Opera House and he read a 'New Yorker' essay in which he described a flashlight as "the size of my penis when I was twelve".

My 'Tea Journey' magazine debut! The first of three articles based on my trip to Chazhou.

Me: "Client, do these initials stand for thing 1 or thing 2?" Client: "Yes." 🤦

I just binge-watched every episode of 'Gavin & Stacey' and I can't get Nessa's deadpan "Oh" out of my head... and the gods at the BBC delivered this. youtu.be/FtL6HkBHbJI

Someone on Facebook asked advice for a coverup tattoo for a Gaiman quote (and fair enough!) and a tattoo artist got chatting and said they do so many HP coverups these days too. That made me very happy. Then they said: "I donate the money from hp coverups to trans advocacy groups" and I got happier.

My new teapot wasn't completely dry when I last used it and has grown mould 😫 It's porous so I have to reset it with a series of different sanitising materials. Le sigh.

Got a standard text from the front desk in our building to say I had a parcel. By the time I got home the evening concierge had left and it was the night manager. He couldn't help me: "Actually, it's my first day." All I could think of was...

I just laughed so hard I woke the cat. (But it also true. Someone please help.)

I think you'll find The Pond is 800m deep; The Puddle is the one that's 500m deep.

I am particularly pleased about this? Play every day: realbirdfakebird.com

Happy Lego New Year

Bevo! Truly one of my fave cricketers despite his relatively short career. Remembering an Inside Cricket article where one of his teammates reckoned when a ball was bowled, Bevo could see 10 ways to play it... the 11th was what would get him out.
