It’s a hodge podge action game. Mechanically it’s good (if filled with ways to break it). Story wise it’s a high guy explaining the plot of Nier Automata to you with no background in the philosophy behind that game but with a large poster of 2B he keeps gesturing at.

Getting a sequel specifically to File#2 scenario “Flashback” as Alyssa’s daughter is the deepest of deep cuts for a numbered RE sequel, I love it!

thehill.com/homenews/cam... “No daylight, kid” Harris’s campaign depended on moving as far away from Biden’s stained record as possible, & instead they clung to that ship even as it was sinking.

Either the “Stop the genocide” crowd was small enough to be ignored (what the Dems did), or it was large enough to need appeased (what people have been saying since November). You can’t spit in people’s faces, slander them, ignore their pleas to stop, and be angry they stayed home when you didn’t.

One gets the sense that Altman doesn’t get that smartphones & social media & other spyware vehicles people use all the time were something useful that capitalism strapped a data theft machine to. LLMs and THIS are data theft machines without the useful bits. Clown shoes Big Brother.

Gamepass is getting the PS1 version, which is a lot more arcade-y and has worse visuals then the PC versions.

Excellent article. It put to words feelings I have had about what is otherwise a favorite series. It also reminds me of how the female pilots of Iron Blooded Orphans are also defined by their male relationships, both the Teiwaz wives and villain Carta Issue.

The last thing to enter Partagaz's mind before the blaster bolt being that his only surviving protege is Lagret is legit hysterical. Rest in piss.

It's just a regular grocery store except the portion sizes on everything are 6x as large.

The genre loves it's gambling element, such as NPCs getting stronger (but with better loot) the longer your on the field or permadeath mechanics tied with a (short) RPG leveling system which emphasizes caution.

Hunt: Showdown is the first of the genre that I remember. It's a battle royal variant where the players (often in small teams) are after objectives (such as kill an NPC boss or collect a treasure) & then try to leave the map. If another team gets the prize first, your team can kill them & steal it.

It's part of luck, but money too. Even if we take out access to medical care as a factor (& it is a huge factor), you're never gonna notice symptoms of one chronic problem if your job is moving boxes in a warehouse & your arms, back, and legs are aching 24/7 anyway.
