The planet is burning, we have among the highest levels of poverty in the developed world, there’s a genocide happening in the Middle East right now, our services are crumbling and people die before they are treated on the NHS and THIS is the level our politics is at?

Popular take: Kemi will say just about anything to get some attention and the more it offends generally decent people, the better as far as she is concerned.
What a dire state our politics is in in 2024.

On the 12th day of Christmas Keir gave to me
10 leadership pledges
6 first steps
5 missions
A second referendum
God knows how many other failed promises
And now another load of baloney

Is there any sort of push for proportional representation from these MPs?
Because without it, any talk of fair elections is pretty hollow.

Brexit bunch?
Are you referring to Starmer’s promise of a second referendum when it wasn’t his to make as shadow Brexit secretary?
Or is pledge to “defend free movement as we leave the EU” when running for labour leader?
That sort of Brexit-y promise?

I agree calling for another election is futile but who are these 1.3 million people?
They can’t all have been right wingers?
Or if they were and Labour aren’t getting them back then they’re even more screwed at the next election than we thought.

1.3 million gullible people and counting who have suddenly noticed the Labour Party leadership say one thing and do another.

The Lib Dem’s have dutifully fallen into line with Tories on this one - just as they always do, even if they pretend otherwise.

I’m not sure the BBC calculations are correct re the withdrawal of the residential nil rate band on estates worth £3m, but the point remains that this is extremely rich people complaining that they have to pay far less tax that the rest of us.
