Dobbs wasn’t the worst SCOTUS can do. ECOA is just as “settled law” today as ROE when SCOTUS killed it.
Before ECOA, women were disallowed credit without a male cosigner! No cars; real estate; financial instruments.
Mom was so thrilled she went out and bought a sewing machine by herself!

They haven’t gone after financial independence yet… but bet that ECOA (Equal Credit Opportunity Act, 1974) is in their sights as well. It was a year after Roe; before it, unmarried women (no matter how well off) were rarely approved for credit. Took a fucking husband/father co-signing!!!
