I just finished a weekend binge of @older.bsky.social's Mossa and Pleiti audiobooks. These characters are the heirs to Holmes and Watson we need. They are SO human. Their relationship is so real - brittle in the night of Pleiti's brain, resilient in the bright of their shared affection. READ THEM!

On the first day of every class I teach every semester I, like many instructors, start with introductions. I ask for the obvious information AND I ask them to provide "one interesting fact about themselves." And then I go first.

If you're mad and find yourself yelling that you want someone launched into the Sun, take a moment, calm yourself, and remember that it takes a lot less Delta v to launch them out of the Solar System instead. You can be mad, but that's no excuse to be inefficient with propellant.
