Brad Lander physically put his body on the line to protect a person being targeted by ICE goons, and this was the result. He’s an elected city official and mayoral candidate, but he’s also a good person. If every elected Dem showed that kind of bravery, we’d be in a much different position.

We still have to actually mount a sustained and meaningful national protest movement to combat that overreach, and whether that will happen is an open question. But the LA stuff is already meaningful, national solidarity is escalating, and the question is rapidly becoming simply, can we sustain it.
