I'm experimenting with how many apples I need to eat a day to keep EVERYONE away, whatever their profession.

Well, have you? Saved the daylight? Because I'm here to tell you, if you don't, you'll miss out when I eat the Sun.

I was reliably informed by science fiction that when things got this bad there would be a cool new future drug to keep me unaware and complacent. Where is my soma? My Substance D? My Forgetall and Acceptol? My Plutonium Nyborg?

One of the funny things about playing Music League with numerous folks with normal taste is it makes the urge to go full goth nearly overwhelming. Me: "Hmm I see you've submitted a well known pop megastar. Interesting. In return may I interest you in an industrial song about driving your car naked?"

This checks out.

Every time I check on this the probability is higher.

He's absolutely right.

We could just be reading great books, watching good movies, and eating fruit. Instead we have to survive/fight miserable power hoarders. What a waste of limited time.

Exploring slot canyons is magical, but being able to do it with your best friend makes for a truly special experience. He was a trooper! Enjoy the *acoustics* in the beginning lol. ❤️🐾

Every year I mix annual playlists & in 2024 I listened to more music than ever. As a result I have 10 mixes rather than my usual 3! I'll post them over the coming weeks. I'm kicking things off with this mellow & slightly haunted mix. I hope it brings joy. Lord knows we could all use more right now.

Just a reminder that if you tell a disabled person to move out of the US if they’re scared of living here, other countries don’t want us either. Countries will turn you away because you’re disabled. We’re seen as a burden and that’s so normalized that it’s okay to turn us away.

Worth revisiting. For reasons.

I have a little plea and it's this: please keep posting about things that aren't The Horrors. I am not saying to not look at or be informed about The Horrors. What I am saying—what I am genuinely kind of begging you to do—is keep posting about books and movies and sunsets and pets and joy. Please.

This is my "how it started" picture. Today I taught myself how to chain. For the life of me I cannot grok a crochet stitch, but I'm not giving up. I'll eventually learn how to make a granny square. Absolutely determined to make a book blanket this year.

Take a 10 minute break to relax and soar with Juno over the clouds of Jupiter in real time. Sound on, full screen recommended. youtu.be/jNkKg_iUV-Q?... 🔊 Chris Zabriskie

There is little else in life that I love more than columnar basalt. Yes, they're "just" rocks, but I mean come ON 🤩

Man becomes wolf

You had different dreams for yourself than having to meet this shit historical moment. I did too. I did too.

Being a person with deadly, incurable cancer who is nonetheless still alive for an indefinite timeframe gives me an interesting metaphor that helps me deal with things like large-scale corruption in government or commerce. Bear with me for a second while I try to explain.

Remember when the pandemic began and everyone started accommodating remote work? Everyone began showing brand new movies and live concerts streaming? Disabled people had been fighting for this for decades. Now it’s all taken away. It’s not that they can’t accommodate us, they just don’t want to.

If genAI was any good, all they'd have to do is tell us about it, and show us a demo. We'd taste it and say, "Egad! This is truly a tool of the gods!" and we'd throw all our money at it. But it's no good, so they jizz it all over our basic work tools, stand back, and smugly say, "you're welcome."

One of my favorite images that I’ve processed. It was fun working with such old data and hand-written mission notes.
