Been there, and saw the only bear I have encountered in the wild. I rather expected it to be a big pile of flat slabs, as if they were the Devil's unread letters all stacked up. But then I realised that Americans would call that the Devil's mail pile.

You should go check out Takachiho in Miyazaki Pref in Japan sometime. Some of the wildest rock structures i've seen.

I was REALLY hoping to see them on our trip to the UK last summer but even not going all the way to the Giant's Causeway takes you a bit out of your way.

Basalt is very cool, but I love quartz because I can murmur "silicon dioxide" but I have no idea how to say "CaMgO6Si2" so I have to fall back on "plagioclase feldspar, pyroxine and olivine" which is somehow less pleasing to me.
