ā€œ2 high agency males going at itā€ Well, that’s the new MAGA PornHub category unlocked…

My money’s on ā€œmutually assured destructionā€, which is pretty much the only option when you’re dealing with two pathological narcissists

To anyone who is LGBTQIA+ just trying to survive within an increasingly violent and hostile society that would gladly eradicate us, incidents like this have become our Roman Empire.

Get that precious baby some shade for his peepers immediately! (also just had to search back through your feed to make sure I didn’t misgender your cat)

What if soy milk is just regular milk, introducing itself in Spanish…?

Looks like it, the world map behind it was also backwards I noticed. I respect the effort and commitment to the message

I think everyone’s suffering from a case of bad tacos right now

ā€œAllegedlyā€ There’s a lot of data out there that suggests some not-so-subtle vote manipulation from Elon in swing states… so with that, we come full-circle.

Some things you hear for the first time, then immediately wish you hadn’t. It goes to show just how deliberate everything is with her. Everything revolves around hatred. It’s not enough to be a bigot, it has to be woven into every fibre of her being, & the identity(-ies) she’s created for herself

The French are much more direct and to the point than us Brits, and we love you for that (contrary to whatever Brexit nonsense you’ve been told)

In fairness I’m in Switzerland most of the time so I can’t complain

Nailed it! Unsurprisingly, so am I. Reluctantly at the moment, leaning a lot more into my Irish side seeing as the country’s on fire

I don’t want to assume your nationality, but coming from a Brit, ā€œI dislike using the word hate but he’s definitely not my favouriteā€ is possibly one of the most perfect British put-downs I’ve heard

But let me guess - just like his self-driving technology he’s been on about since 2015, missions to Mars are *checks notes* coming by end of next year? Probably. Give me a break. It’s Musk’s version of ā€œthe dog ate my homeworkā€ yet people keep falling for it over and over again

Ah nice, that’s another one - my brain was competing between Was (Not Was) ā€œShake Your Headā€, and something else but it’s escaped me now

I have exactly the same highlighted screenshots of this passage in my phone from when I first read it. It stirred something in me that I’ve never previously been able to put into words. It helped me put a name to trauma so aggressively gaslit that I didn’t even recognise it was there.

Just as Brexit stripped away freedom of movement from the (largely misinformed) electorate, to our great detriment, but is still touted as a victory for our ā€œsovereigntyā€. ā€œDamned if I’m gonna let immigrants steal my van, that’s my livelihood - so I set it on fire insteadā€ is the common logic

Spot on. Watch how long it takes before the rumblings start again about the UK withdrawing from the ECHR… this is what I fear is the endgame, they’re hoping trans panic will be the wedge issue that finally enables them to strip away human rights from ā€œminoritiesā€ and the entire population by stealth

But if you’re not distressed by being English, are you even really English? My only salvation is my dual Irish citizenship and hooooooo boy that’s doing a LOT of heavy-lifting these days

*taking notes* gonna try this with mine… will report back. … She thinks I’ve let the cats loose on my phone

Same back to you, I’m also watching in horror at what’s happening over there. We all seem to be getting it from all sides these days. Solidarity from my fascist-curious hellscape to yours āœŠšŸ¼

If only Labour could identify as anything other than a massive f*cking disappointment… but that seems to be their brand right now, they’re really throwing the kitchen sink at it
comment in response to post
This mirrors what’s happening in the UK with attacks on trans rights. The Labour Party went so far as to outright cancel their Women’s Conference, just so they could exclude trans women from taking part. All in the name of ā€œprotecting womenā€. The targets change but the playbook stays the same

I really don’t get what’s so difficult about this - just arrange a first date in a place that doesn’t feel like the intro to a true crime documentary, jfc

The whole thing screams engagement bait, but the fundamental lack of self-awareness the Telegraph and their readership has makes me think they really genuinely *are* this detached from reality

Thank you for seeing this too, because it’s all I’ve been able to think while reading this
comment in response to post
Good point, and to bring it back round full-circle I think the shift will happen when ppl realise that what they’re tacitly enabling as ā€œopinionā€ wouldn’t wash when used in relation to any other marginalised demographic. Racism can’t be defended as ā€œopinionā€, it’s rightly called out for what it is
comment in response to post
Sadly, yes. But I hold onto the hope that (cis) people are finally waking up. I’ve had several reach out to me since the SC decision, both to check in and also ask what they can do to help. It may seem overwhelming but we’re not alone in this.

I’m struggling to find any material difference between this, and the crowdfunding grifts for the white woman in the US who called a child the N-word. Both serve only to financially reward bigotry, and push the limits of what violence is acceptable to mete out on their preferred targets.

Curious what song people hear in their heads while reading this - I’ve found at least two and I can’t decide which is better

Good Lord… I mean, have they never seen a British bank holiday weekend before??
comment in response to post
The difference boils down to precisely that - entitlement. Women/POC have had to come to terms very early on that white patriarchal society is aggressively committed to keeping them ā€œin their placeā€, while white men see their success over minorities as their God-given birthright. No effort required.

Alas, I know nothing of these luxuries of which you speak, yet they are blamed for the self-indulgent downfall of an entire generation while conveniently overlooking the 2008 crash that obliterated millennials like me. But whenever I point that out, all I get in response is ā€œBOOTSTRAPS, BITCHESā€

Maybe (just maybe) the five holidays are the problem? Not the VAT on private school fees.
