there was not "intense social pressure" to stop saying 'master bedroom' and 'brown bag lunch,' bffr. If you were a national pundit with millions of readers you would get some annoying twitter replies and emails. Ordinary people with normal jobs were not experiencing this.

To be consistent, this is actually a place where I should NOT have capitalized black, bc when we refer to black as a race, like white, it shouldn’t be capitalized. When we refer to Black as a culture, as a shorthand for Black American or the Afro-Atlantic diaspora etc., it should be capitalized.
