Just Admit You're Wrong

I fall into this trap a lot myself, but bitching and raising a ruckus over *tweets* is an appropriate, low effort, undertaking for citizens. Journalists should absolutely note this, include it as context when and where appropriate, but otherwise move on. More than that is a waste of resources.

"Michigan is one of eight states with no cooling-off period for politicians once they leave office. In Florida, a state with the most stringent requirements, lawmakers must wait six years after leaving office to register as lobbyists."

I can't be the only musical theatre kid who now has "WE HAVE NO KING BUT CAESAR" in my head, Jesus Christ Superstar style, given all this upsetting King Talk.

It's only a trap of it springs. They're not going to send checks to anyone. They won't even shelter homeless vets.

Here's one small thing to look forward to: An opera of THE AMAZING ADVENTURES OF KAVALIER & CLAY coming to the Metropolitan Opera in September. www.metopera.org/season/2025-...

People who credulously believe conservatives when they say they support Trump because of woke are the same sort of people who credulously believed that the pinpricks on Abigail William's skin were the result of Goody Proctor's witchcraft.

FYI Toronto isn't in the US and never will be; your retrograde politics can't directly explain our aeronautical troubles.

Curious to know what job is going to keep my dumb ass around while I experiment with what questions are relevant to my work. If I do figure it out and become competent before my hiring manager realized her mistake won't I just get replaced by an intern who'll work off the list of questions I made?

Okay but he's literally a bureaucratic

This should be a PSA that runs during the Super Bowl

So I guess I just want to say that no 19-year-old's lives are ruined because he lost a job he wasn't qualified for. That's actually, generally, kind of an important, and ultimately beneficial, life moment for a lot of people

Pete Hegseth isn’t DEI. Daniel Penny isn’t DEI. That’s not what DEI is. They’re just grossly unqualified for their jobs and add no value that any replacement legacy job applicant wouldn’t bring. So stop saying “it’s DEI” like it’s a clever commentary on the situation. It’s not.

The leaning minaret of Mosul in northern Iraq has been restored using its original brickwork, years after it was reduced to rubble under Islamic State group rule. https://u.afp.com/S45s

The federal government is best understood as a giant risk mitigation bulwark for risks too big for any state: self-defense, health safety nets, natural disaster relief, maintenance of vital infrastructure, nuclear material handling, etc. You want this shit to be there when you need it.

Learned my lesson the hard way about engaging with crypto-conservative "leftists" who are petty sanguine about Trump trying to shred the Constitution while saving all their powder for liberals.

Teaming up with Peter Thiel's surveillance/war machine to use AI to create Christian propaganda is giving Crusades far more than it is salvation

Sorry trans folks, sorry married gay couples, sorry Department of Education, sorry rape victims, sorry community health standards, you're all laid out and waiting to get ground up under the wheels of the bus, but at least not voting for the liberal ended genocide.

Fuck them. Fuck them and their crocodile tears. It's insulting for them to tear their hair out because democrats are finally playing McConnellball

Good news. Art's not dead

My first and definitely last time working with the Los Angeles Times. Editing out the most urgent point of an OpEd in the minutes before sending to press while then also assigning a title and image that suggest an argument entirely opposite to the author’s clear intent is pretty shitty.

One of these days I'm going to literally piss on something of Donald Trump's. It won't be his grave because I'm not going to wait in *that* line. But maybe one of his hotels or kids.

lansing friends: i’ll be here tomorrow, showing out for trans folks! join me!! #lovelansing, just in case somebody’s doing that here lol

running the federal govt the same way I figure out which breaker powers the garage

Trump just fired NLRB Member Gwynne Wilcox. The NLRB now lacks a quorum & can't decide cases. This violates the NLRA, which says Board members can be removed “upon notice and hearing, for neglect of duty or malfeasance in office, but for no other cause.” news.bloomberglaw.com/daily-labor-...

It is, um, frustrating to read a depiction of a fictional, buffoonish president and think wistfully, "What if?".

You guys, it’s been a crap 8 days (and then some), but if Philly Whole Foods workers can beat Jeff Bezos and form a union, we can all keep going. #1u ✊

I notice that no one calls me appealing and intelligent for only ever voicing opinions I that are very popular with violent people
