Oh my, we forgot about this

It was Republican Congressman Dan Newhouse who introduced the censure resolution of @algreen.house.gov today. Funny how Newhouse didn't have any of that energy for the repeated outbursts, interruptions, and "incivility" of Marjorie Taylor Greene and Lauren Boebert in 2022, 2023, and 2024.

Twenty Minutes of TRUTH youtu.be/2IlIol6a1EY?...

The GOP talking point today is: "It's going to take unconventional methods to get us out of the mess we've been in the past 4 years" "The mess" - booming stock markets - unprecedented job growth - strong GDP - wage growth - plateauing inflation - strong allies & trading partners - a sane POTUS

1. Trump declares tariffs that tank the stock market. 2. Trump and Musk buy cheaper stocks. 3. Trump rescinds tariffs, reviving the stock market. 4. Trump and Musk sell more expensive stocks.

Neither will we.

EXCLUSIVE: I recently spoke with Rep. Al Green who was just escorted from Donald Trump’s speech. We’ll have a chance to ask him more questions this evening. Here’s what he told me:

Helpful graphic:

The Atlantic asked every GOP member of Congress two straightforward questions: Did Russia invade Ukraine? And is Putin a dictator? A few said yes; one responded with an interaction with a chatbot; most didn’t respond at all. theatln.tc/C9Sz9dk4

Trump claims he “brought free speech back” after removing a man from exercising his free speech. #StateOfTheUnion

AARP has created an easy way to contact your lawmakers and tell them Social Security must be protected. Learn more.👇

What he said about Social Security payments has been repeatedly debunked - so the question isn’t whether he’s lying about this, the question is why. What is this a pretext for? He and the GOP have long shown interest in going after Social Security. What are they going to try?

BREAKING: irony dead.

Note how Orange Caligula looks right at the camera afterward. He did this deliberately so, even if Roberts has followed the rule of law, he’s now been smeared with the *appearance* of impropriety. Like a weasel spraying his nasty scent to mark his territory. Probably a trick learned from Roy Cohn.

Trying to wrap your mind around what's happened this week (it's Wednesday)? Same... So for our clarity (and possibly yours) we're resharing some WIRED scoops in this refresher thread, starting with business leaders paying millions of dollars to dine with President Donald Trump.

“The days of rule by unelected bureaucrats are over.” Uh....

Donald Trump is lying to you.

Trudeau: I want to speak first directly to the American people… your government has chosen to do this to you. Your government has chosen to put American jobs at risk. They have chosen to raise costs for American consumers on everyday essential items…

Business leaders are paying as much as $5,000,000 to meet one-on-one with the president at his Florida compound, sources tell WIRED, while others are paying $1,000,000 apiece to dine with him in a group setting.

It can be hard to keep straight all of the alarming instances of politicization/weaponization of the Justice Department since January 20th. I created a detailed Timeline, with Audrey Balliette. We also link to all the publicly available documents. Read the 25+ entries here: #Democracy

I am fully prepared to be unfathomably, viscerally angry tonight with tonight's SOTU. Please, democrats, make a statement somehow. The state of the union is not good. None of this is okay or legal. Do anything.

"I'm burning America down and making it illegal for you to complain about it."

DONALD TRUMP: "My tariffs are gonna be great for America!" STOCK MARKET: "God, you're stupid."

Vladimir Putin is smiling.

Our farmers will lose billions in USAID cuts. His tariffs will not make up the shortfall, because most of the produce coming in does not compete with local produce. People aren't going to buy more Idaho potatoes because Mexican bananas cost more. + labor shortages. The fuckening continues.
