Yesterday I saw the Tesla Robotaxi branding. I thought at first it was masking tape on the lead car, but I guess it's retro futuristic like the Cyberpunk 2077 logo. Except it doesn't stand out and you can't really tell it's a taxi. The one I saw was basically taupe on that Tesla reddish color.

When I heard the mom of a trans girl say the night her daughter came out to her was the first time she'd ever seen her child happy, I knew it was a story I needed to share. These are the stories the public isn't hearing. An honor to get to report on 3 family's journeys for @teenvogue.com.

My relatives keep asking me how we're doing in the riots. I say, you mean the police riots? Cuz no one else is rioting.

I have never seen this barometer bush (cenizo) bloom like this. And it smells. I'm not sure I like the smell, but still...

“If we care about climate, we’re going to have to care about trans rights,” Taylor said. open.substack.com/pub/heated/p...

Do it! Let us flip all of them!!!

APD sent up the helicopter just now. It highlights the absurdity of the anti-"defund the police movement". They could have used a drone and potentially found the guy for peanuts. We get to pay to keep a helicopter fueled, burn tons of gas, searching with a vehicle you can hear coming a mile away.

Everything that’s happened over the past six months has been a response to an imaginary crisis. There is no immigrant invasion. No trade crisis. No scientific or governance crisis. Just people completely high off their own supply trying to fundamentally reorder society. None of this had to happen.

It's amazing that every time I stop at the stop sign at the end of my street I have to wait for a Tesla robo-taxi and its chase car. The number of circles they're making in a day is mine boggling.

A good friend pointed out to me that for all the red state culture war stuff going on most Texans just flat out ignore it. What if Republicans ban THC and the news doesn't report it, the police don't enforce it and nothing changes? When does ruling without popular mandate become impotence?

Now John Mulaney is all wrong about US/Soviet relations. It's like he's writing this show exclusively to irritate my wife and I.

Austin's real estate market is deflating. I've never seen a bubble not pop and take a ton of developers with it. This could be really interesting if prices continue going down AND we continue having healthy development conpanies building. What if we learn from the past?!? Could be wild.

I do want Tesla to succeed. I want road carnage to stop, and I see driverless cars as a key part of that. Ford, Waymo, and Tesla have all trained cars in my neighborhood. Tesla operates the least predictably and seems like they're still at a phase where they should be testing in a parking lot.

Encountered one of the Tesla tech test cars in self driving mode at a stop sign. It kept inching forward like it was going to try to turn out in front of me, so I had to keep tapping my brakes. I dunno if it's a bug or they have very bad drivers training these things.

This is in a red county in Texas. Most Texans are a lot better than our politicians. A lot better.

I wish more Texans cared as much about protecting trans people or education as they do about weed. Anyway. Now that you're on our team let's boot the Republicans from office.

Tesla's testing robo-taxis in my neighborhood. They're still being human supervised which means there's zero way they'll be ready for safe self-driving in June. Waymo did like a year of unsupervised driving without customers in our neighborhood.

My favorite Cursor "improvement" was it was just supposed to be copying code into a new function and it subbed: var contentRange = headers['Content-Range']; with: var contentRange = headers['content-range']; That was fun to try to figure out.

I've been learning Cursor and spend so much time prefixing requests with "don't modify code, tell me how you'd do x". I've had so many experiences where it modifies 20 files incorrectly, apologizes and modifies 40 to "fix" it. I feel like all my sins as a Jr Dev are being revisited upon me tenfold.

There was a cardinal standing at the top of our pool waterfall. It was taking dainty little sips and it was the cutest thing I ever did see.

hey it me, talking about how to put our country back together

Pretty combo. Lemon beebalm, jewels of opar, and a pink salvia coming in.

I see people talk about "right to repair" but never the even more important "right to clean". So much tech is basically disposable because you can't clean it without wearing down plastic snap tabs or other poorly designed features.

Lord Buffalo drummer Yamal Said, a legal U.S. resident, has been detained by border patrol.

How many republican members of congress realize that it’s only a matter of time until we’re reading stories like this about them? As long as the regime feels empowered to do this, no legislator will be safe. Tyrants always go after their own, eventually. Better to break now than be broken later.

Helpful tip for this. When you're composing your thoughts use the person's honorific and last name. I've found using "Council Member Jones" rather than "Nancy" focuses my brain and breaks this sexist enculturation to reach for an insult.

They are simply the best.

The lemon beebalm is technically in the flowerbeds. Technically. Also blocking half the path. I can't bring myself to trim or pull it though.

We talk a lot about Burnet as an Austin specific pronunciation, but not enough about Conan's Pizza. It's co-NANNES not CO-nins.

A smart country (say one with a lot of excess lumber) should start building hundreds of thousands of units of housing a year and then open up their borders to the US and steal our entire economy.

Tim needs to keep his voice down or Trump is gonna "renegotiate" these back to 60%.

Pretty bloom spikes in my yard today.
