Oh and because it was an online game back then, it was possible to find other players back then in the "new game+" part of it where you play as a ghost, alongside other easter eggs hidden outside of view in the maps.

The website would then later change with the game becoming downloadable and offline playable with a bonus DLC addition due to the death of Unity Web Player preventing it from being playable further, adding more jokey aspects to it such as a Beatnik Bubsy outfit and making Bubsy become James Turrell.

The game was also something that was online only back then, being a short experience where you would also be able to replay it as a ghost and use different names as cheat codes to reveal videos and effects and such.

This was made as a joke commentary at the pretentiousness and ego of artists and their meanings, using Bubsy 3D as a pivot point for it due to its timing, comedy and the aesthetic look that the game (unintentionally) had, a look that would become popular on the internet.
