Yeeeeep! I am right there with you. My brain goes "but why" a lot. So reinforcing with self-care at the center of it all is wonderful. You act with intention to love the self, not to spend time in ways you dont want to!

YES! A great rule of thumb I follow as well is, if you see a task and it takes 5 minutes or less to do, do it now.
Its small things, but makes a huge impact in the grand scheme!

To add, once you've secured that self-care reasoning, add a fun twist! Music, talking on phone, etc. Time flies when you're having fun, and so do tedious tasks!
Know when to take breaks, listen to your gut. Just remember that you deserve to be at peace, so get back to it soon!

Find the self-care reasoning, and reinforce w/ fun, in tedious tasks.
You aren't doing dishes because you have to, you're doing dishes because you deserve to eat off of clean plates, and to enjoy cooking!
Apply to any "daily chore". Laundry for self expression, house cleaning for peace/relaxation.

Today I will be working on setting up datastores, and I will be reworking the gathering service I have been writing. Lets see how this goes!

Taking another approach and really planning out my features before I commit to them! Before I took an approach to explore what features were out there by diving straight in, aka "code a project", but this has led to feeling astray and has reinforced why planning is key!

Thank you!
This journey has felt like tug-o-war. You get pulled ahead, only to realize how much you need to learn.. so you get pulled the other direction for a while, then repeat!

Coding has forced me to look within myself and how I approach problem solving a lot. Its so frustrating having ideas, design, etc experience that is locked behind understanding these basic coding concepts.
Tonight was a rough one. Feels like I have been taking more L's than W's in learning coding.

Another day of code! This time I was transferring my gathering system to the server due to some networking issues/communication between server and client.
Unfortunately I kept running into really frustrating problems that I didn't know how to overcome. So I had to stop tonight.

Exciting! Looking forward to hearing more about it!
Awesome work on this font. Really cool idea.

This must've been so fun!! Is this a font that you can type with/import into software?!
Would love to know more about your game!

SUCH a jam! Agreed!
Just insane working on horror environments while humming to kiki's delivery service. LOL

Woohoo! Less content creation as well which is great for workload (hopefully)!

Reused to tell new stories!
Familiarity of the world you're set in is a great feeling. Creating lore around locations such as towns or cities can also spark potential for NPCs to know each other or have crossover stories.

Definitely!! Couldn't have said it better. Co-working with others in Roblox Studio is always a blast, and its so neat seeing something come to life in real time. I wish you luck w/ your Roblox Dev adventures!

This is cool! Can you change the direction you are attacking mid-animation, or is this a "once you commit you follow through all the way"? :D

Would love to understand what systems you'd recommend knowing well to achieve this kind of result w/ UI! Learning to program lately, and may dive into UI soon.
A follow up: What is meticulous about UI & developing it?

I have really been enjoying watching your process in Roblox dev! Is this your first Roblox game (as you usually dabble in other engines)? What's got you curious about Roblox Dev? :D

If I may say, you'd be stellar at it!! Would definitely reach out to commission you for it!

Hi there, awesome work! Do you do Icons & Thumbnails for games? Thanks!

1. I hope so!
2. Either!
3. Story/Adventure for sure. Deep story elements.

I'll post screenshots and gifs/videos when I have something to show!
My hope is to be open about the process of creating a project. So often we only see the end result, instead of observing the journey. Its important we respect both!
Stay tuned for more updates!

I have wanted to code some more is with the hope to breathe movement and life into the games I create. From environments, effects to story.
I am further exploring how this can all tie together in concept. I took time to gather references and ideas on themes to base mechanics off of.

I studied a few more elements introduced to me in a guide written by Zander Brumbaugh. This was a good start, but unfortunately the game freezes upon launch. So I definitely think I misread some things or didn't order things properly.
Looking forward to fixing it and moving onto the next thing.

Tonight I spent a lot of time reading up on the basics once again, and categorizing them/learning what they are classified as.
I've been learning a lot of when tos and when nots. But I cannot put them into practice fully until I complete one or two projects.

Okie dokie. After picking the brains of fellow coders, and utilizing every single resource I have available, I believe I have learned enough to tackle making an obby!
I will make a new thread for this. The theme, I have decided, will also get me learning some new things about Blender 4.3!
