No, this is the most ashamed you've felt as an American *so far*.

When is the omnipotent Deep State going to kick in?

@myrrlyn.net I have a Wolf induction cooktop, did you happen to ship some Rust in there?

The AWS ARM flavors don't seem to be a steal any longer. Looking at servers in Frankfurt, m8g and m7i are almost the exact same price. I was expecting a 20% difference in price.

Ahh, we're back to the shit vibes of 2017-2021

Spotify appears to have lost the power to play more than one song without intervention. Playlists do not progress to the next song.

How does Brandon Eich feel about gay marriage today? I'm wondering how Mozilla would have fared with him still at the helm.

Do folks still listen to tech podcasts? Some good ones: Rustacean Station has interesting interviews with project maintainers Rust in Production is similarly interesting and had a good chat with Steve Klabnik Oxide and Friends has the gray beard charm, fun to see an amibitious tech effort

We have seen this idea played out nicely with Tantivy and Apache Lucene. Benchmarking between each other and lovingly borrowing ideas between the projects.

I am trying to be patient because I 100% get that people are terrified but I am really struggling with all this knee-jerk public defeatism from other liberals and leftists right now

"Break down the poison so there is nothing but molecules" -- damn, this Dune show is gonna be dumb

the reason this guy runs the internet is basically nobody else is even capable of doing "your shoes were so fugly I called the FBI" and have it be a factual statement

I'm still pumped about quickwit but I find its query syntax tough to guess

Very pleased with quickwit for log storage. Now I have to convert the main rails application to emit structured logs. And then to nuke the Elasticsearch cluster currently used for logs!

P99conf is pretty good! Great excuse to call off meetings today!

Using the freebie github actions workflow on a rust app that uses axum is very painful. Axum is taking FOREVER to compile. Does not seem like a common complaint on the github repo!
