Democratic leaders are confident they can retake the House in the 2026 midterms. But that optimism is increasingly clouded by fear that a blitz of legal challenges from Republicans could complicate or even upend their wins. New from @lauren-egan.bsky.social: www.thebulwark.com/p/dems-fear-...

I know I'm not the first person or even the millionth person to point this out; it's not even the first time *I* have said it, but this is what actual First Amendment violations look like and the fact that none of the supposed free speech warriors are saying anything about it tells us everything.

NEW: The death shadow cast by Musk. “When U.S.-supported soup kitchens were forced to close, babies starved quietly, their mothers said, while older siblings died begging for food.” The world’s richest man did this to the world’s poorest children. Don’t ever forget.

Warnock: "We are engaged in Robin Hood in reverse ... this is socialism for the rich."

“The communication, intended to be private, included Iranian government officials speculating as to why the strikes directed by President Donald Trump were not as destructive and extensive as they had anticipated.” wapo.st/3I08uWN

Every one of these deaths is on the hands of Elon Musk and Marco Rubio. History should never forget.

NOTE TO SELF: Next time google “what does this political party believe” before giving them $277 million

Each Supreme Court ruling will bring the people closer to embracing expanding the Court and reforming it. Roberts and Republicans have destroyed the Court's reputation and integrity beyond repair.

you know shit's serious when NYT is using the actual words to describe what's happening

Red state people especially, call your senators. Even if you know they'll vote for it anyway, don't let them think that it's popular, or that they'll get away with it. At least try to invoke a few pangs of guilt in them while they sell out the country. The more calls they get the better.

This is worth an extra phone call to your senators. Don't let them think nobody cares about corrupt judges who won't follow the law.

Yes, I agree — it would be terrible. Please do NOT share this information!!!

This is what Trump’s mass deportations look like. Iranian Christians seeking asylum being handcuffed by masked ICE agents in front of their pastor.

Lander: "It's just gross, racist bigotry. Meanwhile he's running an optimistic, upbeat campaign for a NY where everybody belongs, and I feel proud as the highest-ranking Jewish elected official in NYC to be supporting somebody who would be the first Muslim mayor—what could be more NYC than that?"

The authorities are investigating the death of a Canadian citizen who died Monday in the custody of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, the agency said in a statement. Johnny Noviello, 49, is the 10th person to die in ICE custody this year.

Rep. Andy Ogles, a Republican from Tennessee, has sent a letter to Pam Bondi calling for Zohran Mamdani to be stripped of his citizenship and deported.

NOT A SINGLE DEMOCRATIC SENATOR should confirm Emil Bove for the 3d Circuit Court of Appeals.

It also puts on full display his psyche and mental acuity. www.nbcnews.com/politics/don...

McConnell to Vought: "There's plenty of nonsense masquerading as aid that shouldn't receive another bit of taxpayer funding. But the administration's attempt to root it out has been unnecessarily chaotic. In critical corners of the globe, you have created vacuums for adversaries like China to fill."

Budzinski: Families making over $700,000 a year will see a boost of $12,000 almost entirely from tax cuts. Shockingly, households making $23,000 a year or less are set to lose about $1600 a year, mostly due to deep cuts to Medicaid and food assistance

Chris Murphy gets it.

There's a big difference between "total obliteration" and just setting Iran's nuclear program back six or seven months. It's clear that the American President trusts the Israelis more than he does the American intelligence community.

Phang: If you were scrolling on social media and saw a dog locked up in the middle of the Everglades—in the sun, in the heat, in the humidity—the outrage would be wild, wouldn’t it? But then—we’re okay with human beings being treated like that?

If you're a member of the Democratic gerontocracy, the chances of you catching a primary challenger just went up 1000%.

Wake up Democratic Party old guard establishment. This isn’t about New York City. This is the way the wind is blowing. Step aside for young people who this country will need over the next several decades long after you are gone. Enough with your egos and the big money interests.

Every story quoting Trump would be improved dramatically if it included “given his track record he is probably lying.”

Process is process and machine does what it’s built to do but imagine being the person who makes the decision that leads to this.

The "big, beautiful bill" weaponizes working-class reliance on debt to finance the college dream with such intensity that not only will it push millions to the financial brink, it will push them out altogether. Whatever schools survive are likely to be populated only by society’s wealthiest.
