Ooh, an oldie but goodie. This takes me back to a time when FM radio still played good music...

I've had a few roosters over the years of having chickens, mostly by accident. Fucking roosters will wake up at any goddamn time of night and decide to crow, because they're assholes. Midnight, 3 AM, not to mention all damn day. On a related note, I have a great recipe for Coq au vin.

as well as human relationship with the environment turning from one in harmony with nature (more animal-like, hunter gatherer existence) to an antagonistic one (toiling to grow crops, painful childbirth & general awareness of suffering to exist).

IMO it's an allegory of the beginnings of human Mind awareness & self-identity; we see ourselves as distinct individuals separate from other humans & animals (e.g., A&E realize they are naked)...

"Woe to those who make unjust laws, to those who issue oppressive decrees, to deprive the poor of their rights and withhold justice from the oppressed of my people, making widows their prey and robbing the fatherless." - Isaiah 10:1-2

Mr. Rogers was a handsome guy. What makes him especially attractive is how he was actually a good person.

Did they consider the termination of the CDC bridge access program? Also, outreach (or lack thereof). Iirc Florida recently banned their public health dept from performing any public vaccine outreach. won't even touch diminished trust/rapport btw patients and PCP...

And on that day I will be cloaked in the quiet embrace of death.

It's definitely an "I am very smart" energy. They think they came up with some hot take because no one else ever thought of this or had this idea before, but that's because it's just a spectacularly awful idea, not because it's original or groundbreaking.

Adderall wants it's own meme. Adderall is the Water of Life to caffeine. Only us ADHD'ers can be distracted in enough directions simultaneously to handle its power.

Similar vibes to white people who say, "Racism/sexism/homophobia is fixed! I've never seen it!" No shit you haven't seen or experienced discrimination on the basis of a demographic you don't belong to! Why are people so simultaneously cruel and obtuse?

The fuckin cojones, man. A man who has never wanted for anything or experienced even a lick of financial insecurity thinks he is an authority on the causes of homelessness, which is conveniently an issue of personal moral or genetic failing.

Honestly what I want to know is once they cut all this "excess spending," are they actually gonna lower our taxes or are they just gonna keep taking our tax money per usual and keep the money they "saved" for themselves? Because my Spidey senses say probably the latter.

No, you're not. And neither am I.

That would be too cool so you know he won't.

Reminds me of the time leading up to the 2020 election, when the "Blue Wave" promptly went back to docility when Biden got elected.

Not cause I'm a righty obviously some just seem a bit spineless and ineffectual in blue instead of red. When shit really hit the fan, would you pick up a rifle for trans rights? For reproductive rights? When they come to round up your immigrant neighbors? TBH, will I have the nerve?

I've always been too much of a rube to understand jazz, especially freestyle type stuff. I would never insult jazz music or musicians like some do, I'm just admittedly too musically inept to hear what makes it good. Swing & big band sure but John Coltrane, Sun Ra? My hears can't hear it properly.

He won't go to jail. Not that he doesn't deserve it, but that we all know that's not how it works for men of a certain skin tone. Fuckers can straight dome a girl scout and not go to jail cos "stand your ground."

Even if he goes to prison, I will write him fan mail every day and keep money on his canteen account like those weird Ted Bundy fangirls.

Just want you to know I have come back to this 4 or 5 times the last few days for a pick me up. It's really brought me pure, untainted joy.

I learned to respect my ancient humanoid ancestors from a series of PSA's that aired in the early 2000's... Or maybe it was a series of car insurance commercials idk man a lot of shit's happened since then.

Fighting insurance companies is literally why I left outpatient. At least in EM I don't have to deal with that aspect. Yes, I am aware that often it is the patient who has to deal with it.

Of course you are.

Paul would have had a similar role but as regional clan toad licker.

You'd be the guy the rest of us villagers would ask if the mushrooms were edible, poisonous, or psychedelic and in what doses because in addition to having mentally catalogued them all, you also tried them and titrated up doses on all of the fungal species within our gathering region.
