Impossible to overstate how central the idea that I, personally, am the only person who has ever done an honest day’s work is to the conservative worldview. This one’s not new. It has always been virtuous, productive Me getting what I’ve earned vs the predatory Others leeching off me.

A slice of spring training life: On the Yankees' spring roster... They have zero players with a number between 1 and 10 (of course). But... They have 13 with a number between 90 and 99! How is that even mathematically possible? They have two players each wearing 94, 96 & 97!

Spencer Jones hit NYY's first homer of the spring. Came after Everson Pereira challenged a called strike in a 3-2 count. Call was overturned, Pereira walked to extend the inning, then Jones dingered.

I wonder if the new ball strike challenge system will change how pitchers pitch and umps call if implemented in season. With an 0-2 count or a 3-0 count you could challenge the auto ball or strike from umpires.
