Cool! :) Welcome!

You can still get them on Ebay it seems. I have just the one at home. Sits on my desk, the only thing in my living room that is "Star Trek". Still somehow my living room is more Star Trek than Section 31. 😁 *Runs

I donut know. :D (That sadly is not a spellcheck correction, it is the worst "joke" I made today.)

Nice job by everyone involved! :) I really like this!

The nacelles from this forward position look a bit like the eyes of Jar Jar Binks. Anyway: I liked that shot, so I did some filtering on it. (Sorry about that! 🙂)

We have not seen it much indeed. (I recall 1 Voy episode, was it Thirty Days?) An ocean world could be interesting for a few episodes. :) I think most of my ships always will have a hint of nautical influence mainly in the shape of aquatic animals.

I agree! :) In 2013, I did some preview renders of a Spirit class in water. This was mainly to test an obscure renderer, but buoyancy did cross my mind, that is also why I thought it would be nice to have some storage on top now. Might do a water landing scene some day.

Also I don't want to loose too much of the OG Vesta shape, so this might be too much of a change. :) Either way: I will eventually get around to it. Still working on the Workbee, then the shipyard, then the Spirit and then probably the Vesta. :)

:) Thanks! It probably would be smaller in volume, but I think length would be somewhat the same. I'm considering to take certain features of this version to the Vesta refit, on the other hand I most likely have to fully re-model the Vesta, to get it up to my current skill level.

No, still not a fan of the koala-tea. 🤣 www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/3z8xc... < Here if you want it as crispy as I could make it. (That is not true, it is medium crispy, there is an 8000px EXR I believe, but I will save it for some 1 off artprint on aluminium.)

That aliased pretty badly. Using a second post for an experiment.

👍I will see if I can post some orthos somewhere this week. :)

Indeed! I supplied the 3D files and reference images. However EM did use a bit of creative freedom if it comes to their physical model. :)

Thank you! :) Perhaps the Merian also can be added to STO one day.

Mix and match is cool! Honored, honored: Wait until you discover that I can't even put on a t-shirt in 1 go. I end up somewhere in the T-shirt, with my elbows stuck, and a mild panic attack, because, and not many people know this: there is no air in a t-shirt. If I survive: cya in 2025! 🤣

A well rounded design! :) *Sorry, it's very late here. Anyway: Good looking ship, great concept art. I hope somebody will fly a version without the Vesta color pattern, curious if that changes the visual balance a lot. Happy Holidays!! 🎆🎁

Lol maybe! :)

Here are some half ring sideviews of the (or a) XCV-330 model to compare. Some details did transfer. I did not watch the episode yet, but somebody showed me screenshots. It balances a lot better visually with less "ring", and the landing capability is icing on the cake. :)

Actually I have that planned for a subspace repair ship, sort of. I think I might be able to finish the shipyard Q1 2025, after that I will focus on ships again.

Cool! Ik heb em zelf niet, heel apart. :D

*This was an answer to a reply on the IXS Clarke post below... I obviously have no clue how this all works. Doh! :) Here are some bonus images made during "construction".

👍 It does share Eagle's optimism in terms of looks. :) But it was a design I did in 2015 with and for some scientists. A concept/spin off based on the IXS Enterprise parts and modules but instead of warp propulsion, this is a much "slower" craft used for travel within our own Solar system.

We will get there, eventually. :)
