turns out the potential car we had lined up has some safety issues that would take a fair amount of time and money to get sorted out so we're having to look at other options. you ever try to source and buy a car in the same day starting from scratch? i'm having an EXTREMELY bad time right now!!!

tried out the thps 3+4 demo, maybe i'm bitter due to the changes to 4 but this feels less like a sequel and more like a mod for 1+2. same menus, very lightly rethemed hud/ui. the gameplay feels just as solid as 1+2 and the maps are really pretty but i'm just not excited for this one

car is back in the shop. we're really bad at picking mechanics apparently because all the clutch and transmission work has to be redone. at this price and with this much going on we're reaching "have to buy a new car" ranges. big bummer!!!!! gonna spend all day tomorrow looking into options

by chapter count I played thru about 1/4th of doom dark ages today, feeling good about it so far. bounced off of eternal about 2/3rds thru and this one feels closer to what I liked about 2016. there's a varied toolkit but none of it feels as mandatory as eternal's different combat tools did

looks like they got rid of the NDA so I can say that I did, in fact, get picked for the marathon alpha. there is still good in the world. I can't wait to play it for 45 minutes, get extremely mad and then just feel sad for the rest of the day
