It felt like cosy gateway fantasy with horror elements to me, aiming at older Harry Potter fans. The old films are comedy, but highly subversive. I was surprised on rewatch at how bold and clever many of the jokes were. Clearly aimed at an adult audience that understands the social criticism.

I don't feel that way. I recently saw the old films with Ricci, and I find them far more edgy and smart in terms of humour and plot than the series. I liked Wednesday, but it felt more like a slightly darker Harry Potter to me. For the most part, I found it all rather funny and sweet.

In addition to the usual classics like Lynch, I definitely recommend "Under the silver Lake".

I envy everyone who gets to see this film for the first time. It's been part of my memory for so long that I can't remember the first time I saw it. It's just always been there. π

Yes! I genuinely liked this character. I think they enriched him.

I was thinking exactly the same thing! It seems so unnecessary. I would still watch it, of course. π

I liked it. Reminds me of another film, but I don't want to mention it here because that would spoil it. Very calmly narrated, yet exciting and minimalistically staged. Nice twist at the end.

It's not Stephen King, but his son Joe Hill who wrote the short story. π

I really like it. Great camera, great music, original story (even if it's βonlyβ the remake) - it always gets me and I always get stuck on it when it's on TV, which happens at least three times a year, so... π

Ha! Showgirls could be one of the most lurid films ever. I love it very much. Everything about it is wrong and off and bad, but few things are as entertaining as that... ππ

Right! Wow! Thanks for the reminder! I heard about it a few years ago but forgot about it. I'll have to track it down somehow. The IMDB trivia alone is so fun. ππ

That is true. I am actually sad when one of my Followers dies. I always send them to sleep when they start to get old. It is kinda melancholic in a cute way π
