Basically I'm sick of commissioning someone, paying upfront and just not get anything done for eons with no communication, making me chase after the artist for my owed art.
I'd like more responsibility on the artist, take my money when you're ready to do MY work or at least tell me what's going on.

At any phase artist might discuss price change for the changes client might need, it needs to go through the platform and also approved there by both parties.
Once full work is done platform sends a heavy watermarked version of product until client pays the last portion.

At any point of the work money is held by the platform until the work is cancelled or finished, then artist gets paid the total portion of the work they've done. For example if one doesnt want to continue after the rough sketch phase, client already paid that part of work.

After artist is chosen, client pays a small portion of the work for artist to start working. Artist needs to send a rought sketch to be approved by the client before continuing, client after approving needs to pay the next portion for artist to continue work. Each step of work repeating this.

The platform hosts art and lets artist showcase their porfolio and commissiom types. It also hosts wanted commission posts from clients to let artists to see and give the client their portfolio. Kinda like Skeb but also accounts for clients.

The only viable solution I've seen to this is a 3rd party platform. I used a chinese art commission app that lets you do commissions with artist. You pay a portion each step, sketch>color>shade etc, the artist is guaranteed to get paid for the work they've done but only gets it once it's finished

It happened way too much to me. Once I pay something (supposedly) happens and I get 0 communication for way too long then I as the client have to knock at their DMs to mAYBE get a response back.
I am pro “pay art upfront” type of commissioner, but this just sucks for the client if anything happens.

I am willing to wait, but I need at least a sign of the artist's communication, at the bare minimum a Trello list of the currently working commissions.
I do not want to just go after artists asking for updates, it should the artist's job as part of the deal when payment is upfront.

Will the comm form be up after the winner's chosen? I might want to get it regardless but I wanna wait for the raffle first for the slim chance lol.
