Yup, just a simple instant elimination on ring out. Normally I'd like it to occur in 2-3 hits but the values in this example were scuffed. Enemies have "weights" which control how far they fall back. I also added the ability for some to slowly return back to their original position if left alone.

Thanks for hosting @sinisterdesign.net! I'm still chipping away at my JRPG. For this #TurnBasedThursday here is a look at a weird knockback gimmick I've been playing around with! It revolves around hitting an enemy's weakness.

Yup! Specifically, I tween the 'modulate:a' property to 0 or 1 to achieve a fade out/in effect

Haha no problem 😉 From the runs I've seen it really illustrates how developers try to provide the player with many routes to success. Hopefully we can all do the same as we keep developing

The shader I'm using is publicly available btw! I converted it to spatial for my use case but otherwise there isn't much difference between mine and the one you can find here -> godotshaders.com/shader/simpl...

I'm currently rocking Notion. The free version is pretty good, although you should probably go with Obsidian if you don't need your notes on the cloud.

Thanks for hosting! Happy #TurnBasedThursday! I present pearlessential, a #JRPG with no LVLs or EXP. I changed up my battle system to take place in the field, so here's a clip of it (still a bit of a WIP...) Also, you can wishlist prle now! store.steampowered.com/app/3163190

I ended up describing it as a click bullet hell... Although bullet hell might be a stretch, what do you think? You can give it a go here: itch.io/jam/boss-rus...
