Mr Wilfred Toes update … no further seizures so he’s got the all clear to go out. Meds will be monitored with blood test in three weeks.

He’s home from the vets. He’s got anti seizure meds which he’ll need for the rest of his life but he’s ok.

Unfortunately the greenfinch population has been decimated by a disease over the past 10 or so years.
We get chaffinches and goldfinches.
Hoping for bullfinch, siskins and nuthatches this year.

I’m really disappointed. I was making a plushie highland cow but I can’t even get past the first round. It’s awful stuff.

Fortunately the largest part of my ‘job’ is caring long term for two siblings. They’ve been with us now for 12 yrs. the eldest is now a social worker in child protection, the youngest about to sit GCSEs.
It’s the Emergancy ‘in and out’ children that break me.

We fail vulnerable children so badly. 55% of the male prison population are care experienced showing the care system is failing massively. Even removing them from an abusive home does little to help the majority. Root and branch reform is desperately needed.

Someone asked me yesterday what my NY resolutions are and I just said I don’t make them, I try to be a better person and improve lives all year. Having a resolution at NY which you then don’t keep gives an excuse to make no effort for the rest of the year.
