Oh hey this is such a nice endorsement!

Very excited to be hearing from all you Lisas.

A movie podcast becomes truly great when you learn something unexpected about an actor’s apartment. See also the episode where @killjamesbond.bsky.social learned Wesley Snipe’s apartment was destroyed in 9/11

So glad they spend some time addressing the egregious handling of Elizabeth Shue in BTTF2: Doc and Marty just spend the whole movie stashing her lifeless body in various hidey-holes. She’s like an awkward unresolved script problem made flesh. (“Like” may not be needed there.)

NEW EPISODE! Shark still looks fake. In which @riverbutcher.bsky.social joins us, Doc and the gang to save Marty and comatose Jennifer's future kids from themselves. We're talking Back to the Future II, buttheads!

Well, this episode felt like a hug! @riverbutcher.bsky.social, can you hear all the millennials reciting the lines with you while we do dishes? 💜

Join us and @maris.bsky.social for Donnie Darko NEXT WEEK!

See you TUESDAY, San Francisco! (I had the day wrong earlier.) 🖤 3.19 glen ellen, ca 🖤 3.22 los angeles / sierra madre [message me for info] Here we are in Vancouver.

I had a really really wonderful time meeting @alexsteed.bsky.social, the co-host of @youaregood.bsky.social! I'm so delighted by the people I've met through Twitter, even if it's not what it was now. Photo taken by Alex.

"People call the DeLorean a stupid looking car, but I think now we all really know what a stupid car looks like" - Sarah Marshall (I laughed out loud)

I’m crying laughing at the surprise that starts around 1:30:00.

Let’s gooooo

NEW EPISODE! Last night, Darth Vader came down from Planet Vulcan and told us that if we didn't take Lorraine out, that he'd melt our brain. In which we go Back to the Future with @riverbutcher.bsky.social.

One of my fave podcasts discussing one of my fave movies, great episode

Need to really re-watch this movie. But, gonna have to listen to this soon(tm).

Carolyn is playing in Portland tonight, Portlanders!

This was amazing. This was beautiful. We’re gonna keep these trans table reads going. I was so honored to be a part of this team. One of the luckiest and loveliest moments of my whole damn life.

Lots of folks saw us post a story about our 50 Shades of Grey conversation and are asking where they can find it. It's our February bonus episode! Folks who support us over in bonus land get monthly bonus episodes, and monthly extended cuts!

there was a group of girls on livejournal in like 2001-2004 who were super obsessed with this movie and had all these lj icons of it

I love being reminded of old favorites. I was OBSESSED with this film as a teen. I should find an HD version and rewatch it because I bet it would be gorgeous on a modern big screen.

This is such a fantastic movie. I have always had a real fondness for the soundtrack – shout out to Shudder to Think who help Haynes get around the music rights issue by writing a bunch of songs that aren’t Bowie songs but sound exactly like Bowie songs. (esp. The Ballad of Maxwell Demon & Hot One.)

This is tonight! If you are in / around Los Angeles, please come out. There aren’t a ton of tickets left and it will sell out. I’m so proud of this thing, Eve, and all involved. I hope to see y’all there!

It only took 27 years and the invention of several technologies for me to find the other people who were obsessed with Velvet Goldmine, the most perfect film about fandom, stardom, queerness and glam. And definitely not David Bowie, of course.

This is one of my favorite episodes of all time.

New @youaregood.bsky.social podcast as @alexsteed.bsky.social is joined by Eve Lindley and the fabulous Crystal to discuss Velvet Goldmine! I listened to the extended Patreon cut, but I'm sure the normal episode is fabulous, as well. podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/v...

Sarah will be back next week along with another beloved friend of the show and y’all are in for a treat!

NEW EPISODE! "Man is least himself when he talks in his own person... Give him a mask and he'll tell you the truth." In which we talk camp, queer baiting, noms de plume and Velvet Goldmine with Eve Lindley and Crystal!

One of our faves!

So, kids, there used to be this thing you used to access the internet called AOL, and you used to be able to download "themes" for AOL and for some reason there was a Hannibal one that 16 year old me put on the PC so it would say "hello Clarice" every time you opened it.

In case folks missed it, our Hannibal episode was originally released as a bonus last year and we’ve got a Red Dragon bonus episode hot and ready for y’all over in bonus land.

We’ve got a 50 Shades (movie) bonus coming out sometime today.

We love hearing about what y’all love. The reality is we already have more movies we wanna cover than there are likely weeks left in our lifetimes. But that doesn’t mean we don’t wanna hear about what you love and why you love it.

Come say hi, West Coasters!

Between finishing @mariankeyes.bsky.social ‘s My Favourite Mistake last night and listening to @youaregood.bsky.social ‘s Mullholland Drive last night, I’m both deeply weepy AND sure of the depth of duende in the works of the inimitable Britney (I post for the wholigans esp @arielletschinkel.com

We’ve been asked a ton if we’ll be covering Anora soon and the answer is probably not but we’ve got a Crime of Passion episode coming soon and if y’ain’t seen that masterpiece it’s time to get right with the lord.

NEW EPISODE! We suppose now you wish that you had fed the rest of us to the dogs. In which we visit our old pal Hannibal in Italy.

Such sad news. I highly recommend the @youaregood.bsky.social episode on Harriet the Spy: www.podpage.com/you-are-good...

Into it.

Ahem.

“They’re not coming out and saying, ‘We want to fire the queers,’” Michael says. “They’re not asking people, ‘Are you gay? Are you lesbian?’ They’re asking, ‘Who is participating in DEI?’ But in the end it’s going to have the same effect.”

We haven’t done that The Dark Tower but FYI for every Stephen King movie we do on @youaregood.bsky.social we also cover the book. (It’s tradition.)

Listening to the Holes episode of @youaregood.bsky.social and I, as a therapist and a mother who is working to become a good ancestor, want to say to Carolyn: You, my dear, are also deserving of rest. 🩵

This episode is so wonderful. A real joy to hear this film discussed so passionately and with such emotion. See you in the unified field.
