I devoutly wish to see the current disgusting regime in Tehran fall. But I wish to see Iran become a safe, prosperous, independent democracy. That is not what the warlords and profiteers and mouthpieces of Western imperialism want. Their 'concern' is pretence covering greed and genocidal racism.

Evacuate Tehran? A city with over 8 million inhabitants in the metro area? FFS, the Iranian regime is evil but that doesn't justify bombing a city of 8 million to rubble.

Ich hab was mit Menschen gemacht, dann dachte ich, wechsel ich zu Autos, jetzt mach ich was mit Menschen im Bereich Autos. Falls ich jemals bei Steinen lande, werden da bestimmt auch wieder Menschen sein.

So both sides want to indiscriminately bomb the other country into rubble... I mean, both governments wanted that for a long time, but they now actively start that process?

FIFA and the IOC are watching and enjoying themselves. They usually push host countries to establish laws that undermine due process (24 hours from arest to conviction for crimes around the games, special laws for VIPs, police control for anyone else).

The US has a proud tradition of stiffing its armies, going back to the Continental Congress. Why change after 250 years?

Staffers/Interns still have an issue tally. In some offices it's relatively formalised, where the staffers report weekly concerns with stats, in others it is more an informal thing that is discussed as "vibes", but if enough people call/write in about a specific issue, someone will notice.

Merz sagt, er kommt persönlich gut mit Trump aus, die SPD ist mit dem Verschachern ihrer Seele beschäftigt, Habeck versucht einen Posten an einer US Uni zu bekommen und die Linke ist mit Gaza beschäftigt.

It’s fascism. Greetings to those very serious people who called us hysterical because „it’s only fascism if there are jackboots on the ground“ (which was bullshit, but still.)

Also taking the fall, when any of the myriad incompetent and illegal schemes to dismantle democracy come before a court of law.

The cops pushed protestors off the federal building, but they've made the situation worse overall because the protestors have spread out in response and are blocking two main streets (Alameda and Temple) and the entire 101 S freeway.
There is basically no way for cops to stop this at this point.

TV and Film creators of the 50s to 80s were very used to hide the results of the war. Robert Clary who played LeBeau in Hogan's heroes always wore long-sleeved clothes on TV to hide his Auschwitz number-tattoo. Maybe too many things were hidden from view, to learn from history.

What are you talking about? You are the one that started off giving wrong facts (party membership being mandatory in China), I never said anything remotely for this measure, just trying to correct misunderstandings about China, you (and many other people) have.

There is not. There are 8 parties that are organised, they aren't factions of the CCP, but subservient parties according to the Marxist-Leninist popular front theory. Wikipedia has a short but well sourced article for you about these en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Democra...

That's also not true, there are minor parties that are legal and even are represented in the National People's Congress (and satellite organisations of the Communist Party), they work a little like alternate professional networks to the CCP in certain sectors.

That's not true. Party membership is a privilege in China, the party has about 100 million members, but since it is a privilege, most parents that can pay for a US education for their children will be party members.

That means btw basically any mainland Chinese student, since party membership is somewhere around 100 million, especially concentrated in the socio-economic groups that can send their children to US universities.
