I'm old and cranky. But if you rub me the wrong way, pretty much the worst I can do is hiss.

I don't know who the two on the outside are, but Ingraham would have to rank among the least happy people I can think of.

The laws of physics say that's not possible.

You love to see it!

No. The stupidity of the average American is the secret to Trump's resilience.

When two of the biggest bullshitters on the planet join forces, that's the only result you can expect.

It's nice to know we're only hiring the most mature, emotionally balanced individuals. Jesus! It's like there's a competition to search for the least qualified, most unserious candidates. And yet they think that DEI is leading to mediocrity.

If there's such a thing as morally insane, he would be that.

They disdain the laws of the United States.

There are thousands of pictures of Elon online. You will find almost none where his facial expression shows joy. I can't recall ever seeing him look joyful. Or even just happy, really. The same is true for Trump.

So the "crazy communist judges" were nominated by the Federalist Society?! That's....um....quite a claim.

Did Gotti ever fall asleep in a courtroom?

Werner Von Braun would like a word.

That is, sadly, true.

They all voted to deport moms. They're just too ignorant to know it.

I can never get over how the crowd that calls itself "America First" hates so much of America.

I'd be shocked if there's a single person in the Whitehouse who's actually read the Constitution.

He could've just said "No, I can't explain it.

A better metric, imo, would be to apply the IRS's Standard Mileage Deduction, which is currently 70 cents per mile. This aggregates gas plus car wear and tear. When it comes to driving, we all underestimate the real costs.

That's like saying they're "addicted" to staying alive.

"Blame" would be a better word than "credit" here.

This is a good start, but it's far from the finish. Keep boycotting. After that, the next Democratic administration, or the next Democratic Congress, should begin investigations, prosecutions if merited, and end all contracts with Musk businesses.

The fact that you can't look at the people in question and say,"I find all this wildly implausible," is the real story here and says a lot about the Trump world.

What a liar he is! He knows it wasn't a threat and he never had to divert any resources.

A unanimous decision by a three judge panel consisting of two out of three conservative judges, no less. The "coup" is ruling in favor of the Constitution.

So, there was a quid pro quo.

Yeah, nobody else respects him either.

Newest: Be the swamp. (Jk. They were the swamp from the very beginning.)

Is he going to turn down his tax breaks and subsidies? Didn't think so.

My position is that it's none of the government's business whether someone is a tradesperson or a gender studies major. And trying to make it harder for people to follow whatever path they want is exactly the opposite of government's legitimate purpose.

I didn't know that hating disabled people was a shitty leftist thing. I guess if you're pro Assad and pro Stalin, you're bound to be shitty on all fronts.
comment in response to post
The thing is, those bad things *should* have happened already and *should* be happening still.

My daughter, a copy editor, is giving you a salute as I type this.

"Rationale" here is, of course, a typo, but it's actually pretty funny. Trump's administration is very much a "rationale" operator in that they are in constant search of pretexts with which to rationalize their authoritarianism. The truth is, as you state, simpler. He just wants to dominate.

I agree. Bluesky makes it easy for me to keep scumbags out of my feed. I appreciate that.

I am genuinely sorry that Scott Adams has cancer. I've lost several friends to various kinds of cancer, and it can be particularly cruel. The (largely) right wing assault on medical expertise is responsible for a lot of suffering. I wonder if Adams recognizes the damage he's done. Probably not.

She knows how to be a thug. That makes her a perfect fit for this administration, and is all she needs to know for the authoritarian state they are trying to replace America with.

The reality is that, even in his first term, he successfully completes very few deals, and those he does complete are often underwhelming. The USMCA was largely negotiated under Obama. Trump added very little. The first term trade deal with China was a joke.

Putin hasn't changed. Trump has been confront with his failure and now has to find a way to pass blame so that he can avoid narcissistic injury.

Only ten years. That shows a lot of what's wrong with our system.

Weird that they're all gung ho about getting rid of environmental toxins like pesticides and microplastics and meanwhile, the actual policy of the administration is "Regulations? We don't need no stinking regulations!"
comment in response to post
Gotta keep his incompetence a secret. (It's not working.)

Your accuracy is frightening! Yet, not to belittle it, all it really took (takes) to see these things is to listen to what Trump says he wants to do and understand that he is now unconstrained. The people who are surprised are the people who didn't know that he fired everyone who isn't a "yes man."

Fundamentally, they're not talking about the same event. The Independent is reporting on what happened, The NYT is describing what they wish or imagine happened.

His claims, not surprisingly, make no sense. The Federal government approves all student visas. They already know who these foreign students are and where they come from. As for their countries not paying anything, these students are cash cows for universities. They're paying premium prices.

They're just keeping it real.

Unbefuckinglievable that he can say this with a straight face.

That's a rhetorical question.
