K, no spoilers then. Did enjoy the movie and MacGregors portrayal. Wasn't as scary as I had hoped but it was definitely a fun exploration of the setting.

Do have to ask: have you seen the movie? If so did it impact your reading of this? Haven't read the book but I have been thinking about it. I felt like the movie really grossed over some of the generational trauma Danny experienced.

As a 40 something parent of a toddler...my younger self would have been in much better shape to handle parenting physically, but my emotional state was not. I think at best it would help mitigate some of the issues for folks who would be at a higher risk of complications.
