I reposted Kimimi's excellent writeup earlier, but let me add my own two cents about why we're both such ardent fans of it. GPM was developed by Alfasystem, which isn't exactly a household name among overseas Japanese RPG fans, but was responsible for some important touchstones in the 90s.
