Saying f_k you in advance. A liberal, not “progressive”, antifascist. Detest Trump’s Nutsis & collaborators, but I will call you out when you use the same logic as them (sorry). This shouldn't be (and often is) an echo chamber - that leads to more losses.

On the bright side, his body should fall apart soon.

I am trying to spread the idea that the explanation involves Stephen Miller’s wife, an errant cat o’ nine tails and him eating out of a doggie dish.

The drug-addled Nazi should spend more time worrying about whether there is a Judgement Day, as if there is he will certainly roast in hell for eternity.

Honest question - did he say he opposes having prisons or just opposes new ones being built? The former would doom his candidacy. I’ve heard both from people.

Without getting into the derails I’ll just say it involves Stephen Miller’s wife and an errant cat o’ nine tails.

And the American people are up in arms about it…oh, wait, they don’t give a damn, don’t know what USAID is & only care about the economy, i.e., themselves. That’s understandable, of course, especially for those having tough times. But let’s not delude ourselves about what matters. It’s who we are.

They hunted dogs together and she was sold.

It’s the untreated syphilis. It took down Capone and now it’s got him. Apparently, it targets narcissistic sociopaths.

And I’ve yet to see anything suggesting the majority of Americans are upset by this stuff.
comment in response to post
The Congressional majority doesn’t care and, frankly, I’m hard pressed to see that the public does. Any optimism about “who we are” is contradicted by the fact that his approval rating is only affected by the economy. They don’t care about anyone else but themselves.

Let us know if they comply with court orders. I see a lot about court rulings, little about what happens next. It would be useful for Americans to see on page one if we are seeing an administration ignore the courts. Not page 13, page 1. You know he’s garbage, say so clearly.

Carrying-on. Sheesh. Could use an edit function.

Oh, it’s real. He was asked about it by a reporter and he started caring on about it.

Wall Street apparently calls him “TACO”, i.e. “Trump always chickens out.”

Some people here see your attempts to save dogs and are thankful for it. Shows us there is still empathy in the worked.thanks

Among the crimes committed by collaborators in our slide to autocracy is knowing he is bat guano bonkers and pretending he isn’t.

The GOP. Spineless and without principle. Destined for the Vichy Section of hell.

Specifically the Vichy section of hell.

Yes - the wise people of Florida elected him to statewide office after his company’s massive fraud resulted in the largest penalty (to that date) - $1.7 billion.

He's the most dangerous kind of sociopath, intelligent with a chip on his shoulder but no scruples or set beliefs accentuated by a willingness to make lies sound reasonable. People say this turd is unpopular and can't win on his own. I'm old enough to remember that said about Nixon and Reagan.

We can fight about policies later. Right now we need to stop fascism before it's too late. The clock is ticking. As Joe Strummer said, get out in the streets.
comment in response to post
This would be reassuring if the Congressional elections were next week but they aren't. Between now and then a lot more damage will occur, thanks to his scaredy-fraid collaborators and Nutsis. We need mass protests - including Never-Trump Rs, moderate Dems, socialists, anarchists. Together.

While this is good to read (1) in a normal world it would strike political fear in the minds of GOP members of Congress, but it won't, as they are afraid of angry tweets and subsequent MAGA thuggery, and (2) it's sad because it dropped only because of the economy. They're fine with the fascism part.

100%. They have hated the smart kids since high school and he has given them their moment. The signs with just his name are the equivalent of a middle finger to people who know stuff.

...and half or more of them (and the rest of the country) would vote for him again anyway.

Imagine being these bastards and going home, looking in the mirror, and seeing nothing.

The peak problem is everybody is self-interested. We live in a society that has made a trade-off: most people will live well, but they know that lasts only until the train runs off the track. If they fall, they are forgotten, no safety net. That leads to fear and anti-tax hoarding.
comment in response to post
Then you are the anti-MAGA. They love lies and stupidity, writing off people who know shit as "elitists".
comment in response to post
Yes, but he is very good at debating while being questioned in Congress - as long as your definition of "very good" includes yelling lies over the questioner.

He should run for governor and senator in Florida like Rick Scott. They apparently like Medicaid fraudsters running the government. For those who don't know, the company he ran paid the biggest penalty ever for Medicaid fraud (up to that point). Floridians elected him statewide four times since.

On point, thanks. You're one of the few who look at politics objectively and, as a result, are pilloried here by those slavishly attached to preconceptions. Also see an explanation for this trend in The Atlantic: www.theatlantic.com/ideas/archiv...

The politics of "what me worry?" + the politics of screw everybody else = misery for all.
comment in response to post
The broader media & public don't get that "antifa" isn't a collection of anarchists & socialists, but anyone who takes to the streets to reject fascism, including progressives, traditional liberal Democrats & "never Trump" Republicans. We'll sort out our differences later. First defeat fascism.
comment in response to post
Yep. As it turns out, the politics of "screw everybody else" eventually means "everybody".
comment in response to post
We are not on the more numerous side on “cultural issues” - and that’s the divide these days.
comment in response to post
It is the essential problem. People want to blame the media, contributions, etc, but those things have always skewed Right. The problem is the electorate. It is dumb and disengaged. And with the multiplicity of info sources the dummies can now always find validation and comradeship.
comment in response to post
Stupidity has its price. Now let’s find an interview or letter in which he says he was - and would be - fine with Trump as long as the victims are other people.
comment in response to post
No. We’re cooked. They have proven the law and our processes are paper tigers and they will change electoral rules to their advantage.

Olympian levels of cruelty, more accurately.

Correct. They are obsessed with “access” and this fool does boffo box office. They all want to be part of the fun.
comment in response to post
Because the hits don’t take effect until 2027, they will get away with it, too. Also they willnbecause the public is poorly educated and/or disengaged.

Next up: the White House will say Antifa is doing it to make Russia look bad.
comment in response to post
They’ll blame Democrats, of course, and the moral decline of society.
comment in response to post
Note when they go into effect, and then figure out who will be in charge and take the blame - or, rather, who will no longer be in charge and avoid the blame. And we all know the public is too stupid to figure it out. Every time Rs assume voter stupidity, it works.

You mean someone who can read and isn’t a sociopath?
